President Barack Obama said he believes the global financial system remains at risk of implosion with the failure of Citigroup or AIG, touching off “an even more destructive recession and potentially depression.”
His remarks came in a “60 Minutes” interview in which he was pressed by an incredulous Steve Kroft for laughing and chuckling several times while discussing the perilous state of the world’s economy.
“You're sitting here. And you're— you are laughing. You are laughing about some of these problems. Are people going to look at this and say, "I mean, he's sitting there just making jokes about money—” How do you deal with— I mean: explain. . .” Kroft asks at one point.
“Are you punch drunk?” Kroft says.
“No, no. There's gotta be a little gallows humor to get you through the day,” Obama says, with a laugh.

He’s laughing, because he knows that under our perfect political system he has in certain areas unlimited power for 4 years, like his mom’s and grand dad’s hero Josif V. Stalin, and nothing, nobody can stop him. Just yesterday the Prime Minister of Hungary in a parliamentary system, where the PM wields real executive power, and the long term president shakes hands and travels abroad, the dude resigned, was forced to resigned, will be replaced. But hey, we’ve got the perfect system. Dream on!
Forgive me if someone has already observed this, but can you imagine the furor that would have ensued had former president Bush giggled while discussing a problem of catastrophic proportions (not to mention undermining relations with every major ally with whom he has contact)? I certainly was no fan of W’s but it’s becoming very apparent that he was light-years ahead of Mr. Obama.
And I agree that Hillary would have been much better as president than the current aspirant.
I have been struggling to understand what is happening in DC. Can so many miscues and blunders really be accidents? Who has been fired for them? Since no one has we are left with the choice that what is going on is either the direct responsibility of an incompetent leader who will stubbornly accept no sound advice or a key element of a concerted campaign to destabilize the U.S. I’m reluctant to fully embrace the latter, because I can’t see Mr. Obama as the type who would willingly have people think of him as incompetent or foolish. Either way, may God help us all.
Its AMAZING that it wasn’t censored from the telecast!
This is what I find most interesting about this. 60 Minutes is taped in advance and I am assuming was cleared for broadcast by the White Hut. Is it possible that they think that this behavior is a good thing for him? Is CBS trying to seek cover for pushing him into office by giving the impression that they are turning on him? Is CBS legitimately turning on him? I know I have lots of questions and no answers, but this is starting to get interesting.

Very frustrating tho, I cannot find the entire interview tho—only 52 seconds; Occupant is laughing, but no comment about from Kroft about being Punch-drunk. Perhaps it will be uploaded from someone & can be downloaded before 60minutes does a are-direct to their website (what I suspect happened).

Humble Servant's warning of hosting martyrdom is worth heeding. Obama is a puppet. The "one" we might be celebrating could well be a minion of the puppetmasters who decides to shut the current puppet up and make way for a more obedient one. Laughable irony for the puppetmasters to see their agent made a hero of a vengeful faction in the Right.
Kroft should gone for the gotcha question, “would you explain how derivatives to our audience”?
Well, tactically, that is probably, by far, the best option.

At least the Clinton’s were raised in America with American parents. I’ll take them anyday over BO, the Kenyan muslim.
