Obama Taps Ralph Nader to Run GM, Nader Joins UAW by Scott Ott for ScrappleFace · 2 Comments

(2009-03-30) — President Barack Obama today tapped consumer advocate and career presidential candidate Ralph Nader to replace fired General Motors CEO Rick Wagoner.

Mr. Nader immediately announced he would join the United Autoworkers Union (UAW).

“The federal government has no intention of running a car company,” Mr. Obama said. “That’s why I’m bringing in Ralph Nader, who had a major influence on GM during the final years of its heyday.”

Other than replacing the CEO and much of the board, and personally approving the firm’s financial recovery plan, the president said he and his government would have “no operational role in GM”.

“General Motors is still a private company, not a government agency,” President Obama said, “I’m not going to be the one putting the nine-volt batteries in the new line of SUVs. You won’t see me attaching the carbon-filter-bag wagons to the pickup truck hitches. And I certainly won’t be hooking up the emissions cap-and-trade meters that will come standard on all new GM vehicles.”

A UAW spokesman said having Mr. Nader as a union member would “reduce the traditional tension between labor and management that has brought the industry to the brink of ruin.”

“We now share a common destiny with the CEO,” the unnamed UAW source said. “When our wages go up, so do Mr. Nader’s. For the first time, we’ll all be on the same team. Of course the GM customer will enjoy the great feeling that he’s driving prosperity for thousands of American families.”

Nader will introduce a new car:

The Flintstone.

No engine...and it moves by you picking up the chassis and run in place for a few seconds. Made of all natural materials.

The enviros (and Nader) would love it

Lot's of things should be brought back.

i.e. 1955 Citroen ID 19 had inboard ABS Disc brakes simple, nimble and strong enough to stop a locomotive on a dime w/change.

And speaking of change, you changed the pads yourself(in 5 min.).

A wire in the pads would ground out to the rotor and light a bulb in the dash when the pads got thin.

We've already developed every detail of good transport.

The problem is 'GoV' big and small.

I was horrified, until I saw the source. Sometimes the fake news is too potentially close to the real thing for comfort.

It seems the gap between satire and reality is closing quickly, no?

The best satire has a lot of truth in it. Though this was satire, reality is not far off.

Sadly, I could see this happening. As of now GM IS a nationalized company under socialist control. We have a congress and Presidency full of corrupt fat cats earning millions on the government’s dime telling people who work for a living and are accountable to others who work for a living that they are fired. Just what the left always wanted. No accountability for government but maximum penalty for those who work. Nader’s wet dream.

Obama has tapped Rachel Maddow and Sean Penn in a double partnership (because of their taxing professional schedules) as the new COO. David Letterman and Oprah will be appointed in duel partnership (for the same reason listed above) as the new CFO.

His wife Michelle will be the new chairman of the board. /lies (I think. Who knows it could all come true to tommorow this way this man abuses his power and is such a blatant partisan and Marxist/Communist/Socialist/Dirty, lying politician etc . . .)
