Dems block military vote in New York special election

The outcome of a special Congressional election in New York’s 20th Congressional District will likely turn on the illegal exclusion of up to 1,000 overseas military ballots, which otherwise would have tipped the race in favor of James Tedisco (R). Tedisco and Scott Murphy (D) are in a dead heat, with 77,225 votes each.

Democrats on the state elections board blocked GOP attempts to allow overseas military voting in the special election. Overseas ballots take weeks to reach voters and be returned unless special measures are taken to speed things up. But the elections officials refused to do anything to speed things up, or mail the ballots out early enough. The result is that perhaps 90 percent of the ballots will be tossed in the trash without ever being counted. (Military ballots are cast mostly for Republican candidates).

There is coming a day of reckoning when the democrats are going to exclude the military once too often and it’s going to explode on their faces.

The military has fought and died since the founding of this country to keep the rights we hold dear, including the sacred right to vote. To exclude them from any vote is tantamount to TREASON. These democrats should be tried for treason and the punishment carried out swiftly.

This from the same party that was screaming “count every vote!” in Florida in 2000.

My understanding was that the ballots from overseas had until April 13th to get back to the states although they had to be posted marked by the date of the election.

I also understood that it went through the legislature and those conditions were agreed upon.

How does it turn for the democrats by excluding other votes, when both have the same number? All ties go to the democrats, is that the rule?

This is what you get when the Commie ‘RATS are given total power over us. The ‘RATS are out of control.

Folks, don't panic.
Yes it SUCKS that the dems are doing this, but I still say that the numbers GREATLY favor Tedisco.
If the ballots that HAVE been returned vote along party lines, then the Independent Absentee Ballots will have to vote at, roughly, an 88% rate for Murphy, to make up the difference, or the Party advantage, held by Tedisco. Yes we need to make a stink. No, we should not get cocky. Still, I think we WON this one!

They practiced this and honed it during the 2004 election, and they almost got away with it. What I don’t understand is, why doesn’t SOMEONE take charge of getting these ballots to the guys, stamped, returned on time? Or getting computer voting?

It is so wrong.

And why doesn’t someone sue?

It burns me when I see on the local AF base a few stickers for bama.......what a bunch of ingrates.......as long as they got their tidy military pension, they don’t give a rats’ ass about other military and their rights.

It’s time to take to the streets. Takeovers happen when people just roll over and whine.
Papers, radio, right wing lawyers need to get involved, congress needs major heat right now. Rush needs a heads up as well as Glenn Beck and Hannity. Freepers run with this and don’t let the left win!!!!! Inaction equals defeat.

No offense intended, as I appreciate the optimism, but I heard the same thing on election night ‘08. I put absolutely NOTHING past these lying socialists.

Train our highly motivated troops in the military arts, arm them with the best weapons on the planet, send them into harm’s way to defend our freedoms ...

... then tell them their votes won’t be counted?

Shortsighted, to say the least. In fact, suicidal.
