Senior Obama administration officials are debating how to address a potential terrorist threat to U.S. interests from a Somali extremist group, with some in the military advocating strikes against its training camps. But many officials maintain that uncertainty about the intentions of the al-Shabab organization dictates a more patient, nonmilitary approach.

Some Americans (like me) tend to agree. This is not only a failure to act, it is a failure to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States!
He mulls aims? Seems to me they are achieving what they set out to do. Prove that this administration will not act.
“Aims”?
How bout being able to bend this sissy “Pres_ent” over to grab his ankles?

How to talk like a pirate

Hell have it down pretty soon, and then hell be able to speak to them properly...
Yes. Now is the time for “delicate” negotiations with tribal forces. It will surely become the new rage for fighting terrorism.
Buy a vowel...
‘uncertainty’ sure does surround Obama. coincidence?
Mettle?
Test failed!
We got the intellectual equivalent of a squirt gun playing with armed pirates.
A coule of SEALS could have solved this problem efficiently and promtly.
Heaven help us. Please let me be on the jury when the Obamaloon is tried.
No
I resent that remark. I have owned two pink button down dress shirts for about 15 years. Oh... My eyes are failing me. You said "pink skirt". Nevermind.
Why doesn't he just indict them like Clinton did. /s
I believe that is what gave us 9/11, you Obama fools! (not you Cyberrat)
Aims? Money, power, guns.
POWER.
Make that "armed Muslim terrorists".
If they have any aims besides the ransom money, those aims would be to get some foolish nations to treat them like freedom fighters and offer them international political patronage “aid”, in the form of “development grants” with the “community organizers”, like the pirates, included in the lists of approved beneficiaries of the aid.
It would be just like Obama, and would translate well with everything he does - shift the payment of the money from the private sector to the government(s) and institutionalize it.
That and get tens of millions of dollars in ransom money. I read a couple months ago they live in multimillion dollar mansions, have private chefs flown in, and live like kings.
The pirates. Not Obama.
Well, him too.
“Joey Plugs” got it right when he said “Watch. We’re going to have an international crisis”
I believe this is only an appetizer, and the main course is on its way.
I can see it now. The Joint Chiefs of Staff around the big table deciding what they want on their slice of pizza. Tell me I’m wrong!!!!!!!!! This crap has got to stop ASAP! At least the French did something.
Allow me to help ...
Their intentions are to kill us.
American recruits of Somali extremists addressed a press conference in the conflict-wracked country this week to rally other youths to join their jihad (holy war), a US monitoring group said Friday.
On April 5, “two American members of the Mujahideen Youth Movement (MYM) identified as Abu-Muslim and Abu Yaxye” spoke at the news conference and acknowledged that “many” Somali-Americans are “all over Somalia to join the jihad,” said the SITE Intelligence Group.
The pair said they are “Somali youth” from the United States and are stationed near the southern port of Kismayo.

if so would be eligible for charging with treason?
Last month the Federal Bureau of Investigation warned US lawmakers that "radicalized clusters" of Somali-American youths as young as 12 were being recruited by Islamic terror groups.
> “The U.S., Canadian and European fighters at the al-Shabab training camps are, for now, being used primarily as cannon fodder in Somalia’s chaotic internal wars, Philip Mudd, the No. 2 official at the FBI’s National Security Branch, told Congress last month... “
QED. If you are a foreign national fighting in another country’s war, “you pays yer money and you takes yer chances.”
Since November, the FBI has raced to uncover any ties to foreign extremist networks in the unexpected departures of numerous Somali American teenagers and young men, who family members believe are in Somalia.
The investigation is active in Boston; San Diego; Seattle; Columbus, Ohio; and Portland, Maine, a U.S. law enforcement official said, and community members say federal grand juries have issued subpoenas in Minneapolis and elsewhere.

U.S. Cites Case of Minnesotan Killed in Suicide Blast in Africa
In recent public statements, the director of national intelligence and the leaders of the FBI and CIA have cited the case of Shirwa Ahmed, a 27-year-old college student from Minneapolis who blew himself up in Somalia on Oct. 29 in one of five simultaneous bombings attributed to al-Shabaab, a group with close links to al-Qaeda.

Somali extremists decapitate two men
Saturday 21 March 2009 03:00
March 20, 2009 (MOGADISHU) - The Somali extremist organization of Al-Shebab decapitated two men from a rival group on Thursday.
The two old men were beheaded in Balad, a small agricultural town located at 30 klm from Mogadishu. Al-Shebab arrested the two wounded men while they were transported to the capital for treatment.

Maybe SOS, Hillary Clinton, can revisit Mogadishu since ‘her husband’ was so successful there! /s
Radicalized clusters of Somalis in Seattle cheered on 9/11. And nobody made a move against them.
Panel: Somali extremists pose U.S. threat
Somali-Americans recruited by radical Islamic groups to fight in Africa also pose a threat to the United States, a U.S. Senate panel said Wednesday.
Concerns about “radicalized” Somali-Americans were sparked by the discovery that a 27-year-old Somali-American college student from Minneapolis, Shirwa Ahmed, was a suicide bomber in an Oct. 29 wave of attacks in Somalia attributed to Islamic militant group al-Shabaab, which reportedly has close links to al-Qaida, The Washington Post reported.
Since then, the FBI says it has moved quickly to probe the disappearances of U.S. Somali teens and young men, who, some family members say, have likely gone to Somalia to take part in an Islamic war against the West.
U.S. Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, said during a Wednesday hearing of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, “The dangers brought to light by these revelations is clear: radicalized individuals trained in terrorist tactics and in possession of American passports can clearly pose a threat to the security of our country,” CNN reported.
Testifying at the hearing was Philip Mudd, a director of the FBI’s national security branch, who told the panel that while the estimated 70,000 to 200,000 Somali U.S. immigrants and their families aren’t “radicalized” as a community, small numbers of them are recruiting potential terrorists.

It’s easy, really
Blow ‘em up
March 22, 2009
Mogadishu, Somalia (APA) - Somali extremists in southern Somalia on Sunday welcomed the recent announcement by Osama Bin Ladin for the uprooting of the month and a half old government in Somalia, according to a spokesman of the Islamic administration in Kismayo in Lower Jubba region.
This is a holy message to Islamic fighters in Somalia. It is a clear and welcomed message, Sheikh Hassan Yacquub, the spokesman of the Islamic administration in Kismayo said during a press conference held in Kismayo on Sunday.
The statement by Sheikh Yacqub comes after the Al-Qaeda leader called on Islamist warriors to overthrow the newly elected Somali president, Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed.
In that case, kill more of them!
The administration believes the best course is to run the pirates out of options, according to a defence official, rather than risk a botched military operation that could result in Phillipss death.
The failed state of Somalia is already a security nightmare for Obama. Days before the hostage drama, security and defence officials were discussing whether to go after training camps for militant extremists from the Al-Shabab group, which has terrorist links to Al-Qaeda.
Rooting out piracy could require blockading the ports rather than merely patrolling the seas. That, in turn, would be certain to inflame the Muslim extremists who already control a swathe of Somali territory and Obama would have another war on his hands. He would rather speak softly and keep the big stick in the background

My goodness, have you guys read the 1000+ comments on this Washington Post article? I would estimate 90% or so are wondering why the heck Ozero hasn’t done anything yet. People are quite vocal about it. Ozero’s popularity is tanking fast. Now if only we can get that poor captain back.
If Obama went to prison, he'd be some midget's "punk" in about 20 minutes.
LOL...I read a joke on FR about a African lion and a lyin African.
Let’s not upset the TERRORISTS! They might KILL US! /s
I want one of those on my car!
“Maybe SOS, Hillary Clinton, can revisit Mogadishu since her husband was so successful there! /s”
No, Hillary is keeping score. Within a year, she’ll resign as SoS because of the ineptitude of BHO’s foreign policy. Then she’ll challenge in ‘12, and probably win the nomination.
Many Americans think it has been a failure to act.
Could it be that the Community Organizer-in-Chief is a surrender monkey?
