That tops Truman’s decision to drop the bomb(s). The Kenyan deserves a medal for that one (Mr. Kerry....Mr. John Kerry to the white courtesy phone...).

Obama is showing his cowboy swagger...This sort of micro-managing reminds me of Jimmy Carter... I'm sure President Bush would have taken all of 2 seconds to say, "When you get a clear shot... shoot the SOBs..."
The difference of course is President Bush had more important things to do... like running a country.
Since OBAMA invested a lot of time into this situation... I wonder maybe this is why he is a little overwhelmed... he doesn't know how to delegate... you know... be a President.

‘other officers’ fired also? first I’d heard there were other shooters in addition to the SEALs.

Obama is going to do whatever smarmy classless thing he will do. He is not relevant in this at all imho. I just thank God for this amazing Easter miracle. May he continue to bless Captain Phillips and his family.
In these times it is really easy to get down in the dumps over everything that has happened to us as a nation. To feel God’s hand in this situation is a both a great joy and quite humbling at the same time.

Gortney said the White House had given "very clear guidance and authority" that if any time the commander Capt. Phillips' life was in danger to take action to make sure it was not.I dunno, but think Obama deserves credit here for having the WILL. Without it, he wouldn't have given those orders.
It wasn't too long ago (think hours) that we were all badmouthing him for taking no action. Believe me, I was all set to relive the Jimmy carter hostage debacle and am pleasantly surprised that action WAS taken.

The shooters were on the Bainbridge some 30 meters away from the small boat. 30 meters doesn’t seem like much, don’t forget that both vessels are bobbing up and down in the water. Ever try to take a benchrest shot from a bobbing bench at a bobbing target?

1. The Captain's life was in immanent danger from the outset.
2. The standing order to take action to rescue Captain when he was in immanent danger came first on Friday and upgraded on Saturday.
3. Read somewhere on internet that Obama was calling around to other nations before Friday to get their concurrence - I would like to know if this is true??

Am I the only one who thinks that Obama and team with it’s “if you think the capt is in danger to take appropriate action” was really creating a political fig leaf for itself in that, if it fails the military screwed it up but if it suceeds, O-team will bask in the credit.....with the undying help of the liberal media.

What’s so very apparent here is that the media is trying to portray RockHead as some kind of brave warrior!!!! If W had been in the WH and the same thing would have happened, the media would have been crying in their beer about the “murder” of the three terrorists!!!!

If Obama had ordered this, the Navy wouldn't be falling all over themselves pointing out that the one loophole in Obama’s direction that they used, i.e. “imminent danger”. They got a clear shot and they took it. “Imminent danger” is the CYA statement that is being used to show that they did not violate the restrictive Rules of Engagement.
