Here are a few suggestions:

1. Term Limits! Read your Constitution regarding Amendments.

2. Reduced Congressional sessions. The less time in Congress, the less damage they can do.

3. A Constitutional Amendment or US Code change that requires ALL Fedgov legislation adhere to the original intent of the Founding Fathers, including their personal correspondance;

4. Sunset clauses in all legislation, except for military funding and other Constitutional essentials. The very few mandates by the Fedgov.

I can go on, but the above is a start, especially a TERM LIMIT Amendment. The Founding Fathers, in their wisdom, never meant for politicians to be lifelong politicians. Their concept was to serve for a couple of terms and go home. I suggest (2) terms for Senators and (4) terms for House representatives. I would prefer less, but the above is reasonable.

The TEA Partys were a good start. Now we need to focus on how to change the DC mechanism. WE NEED TO FOCUS ON IDEAS!

More parties, perhaps on a rotating location basis and month by month. We need to be clear that the kind of taxing we detest is not just the kind that the IRS does.

Here is a crazy idea:

How about a fourth level of checks and balances?

Citizens that pay taxes could allocate where their tax dollars go by choosing from the wonderful projects that our elected officials have in mind. Good local projects would gain the funds they need from those local and some not local, while stupid ideas would fall by the wayside.

You could even do a hybrid model where our elected officials get to spend 20% of our dollars and we get to direct the rest (left wing nuts jobs and right wing radicals).

I makes sense to me...ideas?

Your suggestions are good, but they all depend on Congress. We can’t depend on Congress. We have to come together to find a solution that WE THE PEOPLE have control over. Maybe it’s forming another political party. I’m hoping that some new blood, new leadership will arise out of the tea parties.

Maybe a convention of tea party participants and citizens with the same concerns??? Maybe start with local conventions and eventually a national convention.

The fight of our lives will be over the illegals and socialized health care. If BO gets the illegals voting rights it’s all over and no going back. We conservatives will never be more than a footnote as they ram through every left wing marxist idea BO could ever dream of.

Socialized medicine will be a death sentence for many that we know and love.

I hope we don’t get tea partied out before this comes. I think BO won’t wait long. I’m thinking he believes he has until 2010 to get it done.

FYI.

While I am impressed with the turnout yesterday, we need a single unifying message to make any sort of change. The protests felt good, but the obami/reid/pelosi triad will ignore them and continue on their quest for socialist equality. It's a given.

You guys know it, and I know it. This movement needs a unifying purpose. While many states are looking to past resolutions about their 10th Amendment sovereignty rights, they are only resolutions and have no standing in law.

However, if this new movement could coalesce around a unifying purpose (States' Rights LAWS, Term Limits, etc.) than there may be a chance.

You guys know how this works. General feel good stuff doesn't get it done. We tried it with Clinton. We need more than way cool demonstrations. The politicians just don't care.

All we have to do is what we did today. The members in Congress will think two times maybe three before they vote because more than anything they want to be re-elected.

I ABSOLUTELY agree!

One of the main reasons the ‘slogan’...taxation without representation...worked, is because we are NOT being heard.

Best way to MAKE THEM LISTEN is to ‘hit em where it hurts’.... threaten and then do what ever it would take to get a change in TERM LIMITS.

NO MORE career politicians!!!

I’m betting that the obomba team is absolutely amazed that they have already done as much as they have with only scattered peaceful protest. In fact I think the reason they put out a warning about right wing extremest is to prep the ground for what they are going to do next. Look at what they are doing with the census, illegal immigrants and the tax code; with the help of republicans no less. The conservative movement has been reduced to minority who’s leaders are radio show host that are more interested in making money then leading any meaningful movement. Just my crazy opinion.

I've posted this on a couple of other threads.

Now that the initial Tea Parties are over and were obviously a HUGE success, the tough part lies ahead. We - ALL OF US, EACH AND EVERY ONE - have to keep the momentum going.

And there's going to be battle with the media. We can't allow them to spin this movement as just anti-tax, and certainly not just a group of Republicans bitter about the presidential election.

It has to be made clear to the media, and everyone else for that matter, that it's also about The Constitution, The Republic our Founding Fathers gave to us, states rights, and that everyday AMERICANS are united and will not tolerate a socialist state!

There are more Tea Parties planned, the next national one to be on the the 4th.

FReeper DARCPRYNCE caem up with this and I think it's a great idea.

We need to turn the 4th of July into a national day of protest against socialism. No more celebrating liberty until we've regained it!

On this thread he posted a link to a FANTASTIC YouTube video on the Tea Parties he put together. Check it out for more ideas.

Rush says not to form a REAL party.

Keep on voting for the lay down, roll over, play dead, turn coat, globalists, throw elections, R plantation owners.

Sorry Rush you're down to 98.9 on this one.

The reason why lib demonstrations work is because they are loud, outrageous, in-your-face, persistent, and very well coordinated. Conservatives by their very nature are none of these things. We need to learn the playbook, and FAST.

And of course, we need individuals to lead the fight. Our Founding Fathers and Mothers sacrificed to give us liberty. Committing to the cause and accepting that huge sacrifices will have to be made in order to regain our liberty is key.

Just my 0.02 cents

1. A balanced budget amendment that eventually eliminates the Income tax or at least holds it to no more than 10%.

2. Term limits

3. 50 Federal courts (one for each state) beneath the Supreme Court. All decisions are based on federal law but decisions only apply to that individual state. Judges of these courts are appointed and their terms set out by the individual states. Only Supreme Court decisions would apply nationally. Supreme Court judges subject to dismissal if President and Congress get 2/3 vote if decisions are believed by such not to be consist ant with the Constitution

4. Sunset provision on all laws, Any law must come up for an up or down vote every century or be discarded.

District gerrymandering is another area we should be attacking. Support redistricting reform to end gerrymandering.

A massive march on Washington has to be in the works . If that can’t be accomplished everything will be futile. The major networks will not be able to spin that kind of showing and the world markets will pick it up. Make sure it is on a day Bambi( brown clown) is in town so he KNOWS about it !

I agree with several on here — we need to stick to no more than three solid agreeable ideas, easily translatable to everyone in this country and keep hitting them over and over and over.

Now that conservatives have proven that they can get out of work/office/home and get out and be amongst each other, we need to keep it up.

I don’t like the idea of getting out in public and expressing my views and I think a lot of conservatives feel that way — I prefer that everyone play by the same “F’n” rules as everyone else and leave me alone — but all that has gotten us is “zero as present” and now that we are awake and know that we know it is okay to come together in public we need to keep it up.

Memorial day (coming up) is another great day to rally. 4th of July is another good day. Veterans Day is another good day. Labor Day is another good day. VJ day is another good day.

With enough advance notice we will get a crowd — We found out Sarah was going to be in Richmond only one week in advance — we made arrangements to get there — there were easily 30K people in attendance — all very fired up, all very motivated.

In the words of Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto after his attack on Pearl Harbor, “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.”

November 4th, 2008 — “a date which will live in infamy,” the date the conservatives in the US had a rude awakening.

America Rally’s!

Yawn...no one will control the people on this. It doesn’t need formal organizing, let it be what it is for each individual. A congruence of dissatisfaction with an oppressive government.

These protests are the largest grass roots movement since the sixties and were done without much organization. Let’s keep it that way for now.

As far as tactics go, I think we should escalate to massive civil disobedience. Take over a government building, for instance, do a 60s-style sit-in or something. They can ignore the peaceful, orderly, law-abiding stuff all day long, but they can’t ignore a shutdown of one (or a hundred) of their offices.
