During the campaign, the False One said he would appoint judges who have empathy with disenfranchised groups and do whats right and let the law catch up.

Obama said he voted against Janice Rogers Brown because she wouldn't raise the minimum wage by judicial fiat.

Obama’s judges will be a disaster.

Yeah, it’ll be a minority all right. Something like al-Souter, that’s my guess. If he can’t find a muslim he’ll pick a communist.

“Most here seem to implicity agree Obama will not be appointing a white male.”

I sense an opening for a female veteran of the Black Panthers, with paralegal training.

What difference does it make? According to the news media, we’re all going to die of swine flu in the near future anyway. No 2010 elections, no 2012 elections, no Congress, no Supreme Court, no nothing. sarc/

"then we’ll be communists for the next 200 years."

Nah, I suspect secession and civil war will happen before the kommunists dominate our Republic.

And Americans will win, even if it has to be the hard way.

Here we go! America and our Constitution is so screwed. Bring on the Commie “judges.”

This will be a wash - one liberal judge replacing another. One thing about Democratic presidents - they don't nominate justices who end up opposing their philosophy. Eisenhower, Nixon and GHW Bush put some real liberal heroes on the Supreme Court.

Obama will appoint a highly respected and well known jurist from the slightly left of center judicial philosophy for his first appointment.
He will save nominating leftist justices for his second term. His primary political instinct is to get reelected. To select a contraversial justice for his first appointment will give conservatives too much ammunition. Obama doesn’t want that.

You’re right. George H. Bush ran for president in 1988 based on the Reagan record, and then, after taking the oath of office, he pushes all the Reagan conservatives aside and dumps the Reagan conservative agenda. No wonder Senator Alan Simpson of Wyoming called the Republicans “The Stupid Party.”

Then again, Senator Simpson called the democrats “The Evil Party.”

No change in sight; Souter was as reliably far-left as you can be and still get confirmed as a Supreme Court justice.
Only way to top him would be to appoint... no, I don’t wanted to go giving The Anointed One any ideas...

Damn Teleprompter lied to America.

Never much of a fan of Souter...but I fear the replacement will be worse. Slick Willie gave us Ginsburg, and he was worried about maintaining a “moderate” image. 0bama has shown no concern about anything but his own agenda.

I hope I’m wrong, but I’m thinking a giant judicial BOHICA is a’comin’.

Huge? A lot of “conservatives” might think that Souter’s replacement can't be much worse than he is. It would be more of a blow if one of the “conservative” SCOTUS justices left.

Souter and Ginsburg are pretty much left wing.. Replacing them will make no difference in fact, you can’t do much worse..in finding someone to replace them...”

Correct.
We gotta make sure Comrade Obunga doesn't win a second term tho, to prevent this rabid communist from totally destroying the country beyond repair.

You wanna bet?
Just look at his nominations for DHS and Health. They don't come any more loony left than that. Obama is every bit as evil as we thought he was going to be.

Well, at least Scalia, Thomas, Roberts, and Alito will still be around. Kennedy will still be the swing vote. But Stevens, Ginsburg and now Souter will likely be replaced by Obama, giving him a major part to play in shaping the court for a couple of decades.

Despite amnesty, Medicare Part D which made Bush a liberal/compassionate conservative, his most important legacy will be Roberts and Alito.* *If in 30 years Iraq is a shining beacon of freedom in the middle of despots in the Mid East than scratch that, W should have his face carved on Mt. Rushmore. That will be his greatest accomplishment for generations. Time will tell.
