No, I’m thinking it was more 3-1 than 3-2.

You are right Theodore, that’s all they understand is MONEY....if the donors stand up for their principles it would work amazingly well...

We pro-lifers have for the most part been tip-toeing around this issue for 35 years. If we truly believe abortion is the murder of a child we should have all been much more radical these past decades. (I’m preaching to myself here and of course talking about peaceful civil disobedience.)

I truly believe that what we are reaping with Obama and the socialists is because we (pro-lifers, & Christians) have not fought hard enough for the unborn and God is finally judging our nation.

Alan Keyes is the first person of his social prominence that has dared to be involved in civil disobedience (I’m talking about outside of the regular pro-life leadership like Randall Terry). Perhaps he will be the Martin Luther King of our day in regard to opening peoples’ eyes to the tragic injustice and violation of rights, due process, etc., that a allows a certain class of citizen to be murdered on a whim.

“And the high priest asked them, saying, ‘Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this name?’....But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: ‘We ought to obey God rather than men.’” Acts 5:27,29.

Although, would you believe it, Illinois is still locked in legislative debate whether to do civil unions. Seems the downstate conservative presence is a ball and chain on Chicago’s wishes.

Bravo for Keyes, this isn’t any less important than the march on Selma was.

Keyes was more popular downstate, but he was not a familiar enough name, and had a couple of oddball (not standard right wing) positions.

Same is true in this war against abortion. Every tactic makes it’s contribution. These blood covered carriages are perhaps the flamethrower equivalents. Very gruesome, revolting perhaps even to those who are pushing them, and possibly more effective than we can imagine.

You are exactly right, Bald.

I am sick and tired of pro-life infighting. Quit complaining about how the other pro-lifer is fighting to save the unborn and go do something! Anything!

I challenge every prolifer not happy with Keyes' tactics to do 5 things, any 5 things, to stop Obama at Notre Dame.

1) You can Contact Fr. Jenkins: Call him at 574.631.5000

2) fax him at 574.631.2770

3) write a personal email president@nd.edu

4) or mail your letter to 400 Main Building, Notre Dame, IN 46556

5) Contribute to a billboard

6) sign an online petition

7) go to Notre Dame yourself and show us how a real protest should be done

8) pray, (but pray like everything depends on God and WORK like everything depends on you)

9) stop wasting your energy complaining about other hard working prolifers with whom you may disagree, and get to wrok yourself...

I don’t mean moderate, I mean oddball, like the black reparations thang. Not even Obama has dared dig that up.

There are rules on campus about individuals not being allowed to demonstrate. We break the rules and then the left breaks them and we can say NOTHING!

Here is the problem with your argument. For 40 years the Left has been breaking rules. We cried foul. What became of it? They won. They now control the educational system K through PhD. They control the media. They have a strong almost unstoppable majority in the elected government. Gay marriage is sweeping across the country. Socialism is preferred by over 50% of Americans and we have had 35 years of legal child murder. Political correctness overrides common sense in every aspect of our society. We cried foul about their tactics all along the way. We stuck to our moral high ground of peaceful protest, and informed debate. We followed all the "rules" and look where it got us.
When we had actual power we did not crack down on illegal alien voting, Acorn fraud, campaign finance fraud. We did not fill our State Department with free market, pro-American thinkers. We did not fill our Justice Department with advocates for Life and the rule of law. We allowed the left to take over many of our court systems and yet we still expect "justice" from the courts. They played to win. And did. If conservatives ever want to have any kind of power in America again they will stop playing by rules set by the other side. And the old rules which were honorable and just cannot stand if our opponents do not respect them. We were able to fight the WOT and obey most of the Rules of War even though our opponents didn't because we had such a huge advantage in arms and personnel. We do not have a huge advantage over the Left. In fact we are now behind. We do not have the luxury to allow the Left to use tactics that work (and they do work) and forgo them ourselves. If we do, we will be increasingly alone on our "high ground."

Seems like the better plan would have been to organize a walkout or people turning their back on him when he walked in or completes his talk.

Those who criticize the bloody dolls, gruesome billboards, truck graphics etc, as being ineffective because they "turn people off" fail to understand the true impact. Yes some moderates and lots of liberals are "offended" by the images. They genuinely dislike those pro-life activist who use them. They are not about to join their cause, but the image of what abortion really is is forever stuck in their mind. Those images and tactics do not always make people pro-life activists but they almost certainly make those who see them question within themselves their acceptance of baby-killing.

az, you are sooooooooo right...and sometimes you have to fight fire with fire...Been to many FR rallies and we've never been arrested or even warned by law enforcement, our rallies obey the law, we have permits and we are always within the boundaries of the law..

Generally the law breakers are on the otherside using their overly aggressive and outrageous tactics...

We are constantly complimented by the police, and we manage to get our point across without breaking the law.

That's just one of the things that makes FR different then most other organizations... many of us come from Law Enforcement and military background. (wink)
