Morality and the Irrationality of an Evolutionary Worldview

by Dr. Georgia Purdom and Dr. Jason Lisle

May 13, 2009

Morality is a very difficult problem for the evolutionary worldview. This is not to say that evolutionists are somehow less moral than biblical creationists—or anyone else. Most evolutionists adhere to a moral code and believe in the concept of right and wrong. But evolutionists have no rational reason for this position. Thus, only creationists have a rational, logical, and consistent reason for morality...

Don't go evolving on me now, I'll be back some day to laugh some more.

All the Muslims involved in the Islamic creation movement that I know of denounce terrorism carried out in the name of Islam. Indeed, their emergence is a positive development re: the WOT.

"All the Muslims involved in the Islamic creation movement that I know of denounce terrorism carried out in the name of Islam."

Too bad they can't re-write the Koran and Moahhads sayings though.

"Qur'an:9:5 "Fight and kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive, harass them, lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war."

Ishaq:208 "When Allah gave permission to his Apostle to fight, the second Aqaba contained conditions involving war which were not in the first act of submission. Now we bound themselves to war against all mankind for Allah and His Apostle. He promised us a reward in Paradise for faithful service. We pledged ourselves to war in complete obedience to Muhammad no matter how evil the circumstances."

Qur'an:8:7 "Allah wished to confirm the truth by His words: 'Wipe the infidels out to the last.'"

Ishaq:204 "'Men, do you know what you are pledging yourselves to in swearing allegiance to this man?' 'Yes. In swearing allegiance to him we are pledging to wage war against all mankind.'"

Muslim:C40B20N4676 "Jihad Is Compulsory."

Qur'an:2:216 "Jihad (holy fighting in Allah's Cause) is ordained for you (Muslims), though you dislike it. But it is possible that you dislike a thing which is good for you, and like a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knows, and you know not." [Another translation reads:] "Warfare is ordained for you."

Winner of the specious post of the month!

No rational human, outside of hyperbolic creationists, would make such an idiotic and blatantly misleading statement. Of course, that is exactly the modus operandi of creationists, eh?

Humans aren't animals

We share the same DNA building blocks. The only way to say we're not animals is by selective definition. A human that grows up feral in the wild behaves exactly like a wild animal. They can later learn some key words but are retarded and incapable of learning speech in adulthood. They are animals. Have you known any dogs? They learn and socialize like us, skills originally selected for by pack hunting, like us.

This is fascinating.

Do you also deny that humans belong to the following groups?
1) Primates
2) Mammals
3) Vertebrates

And your data to support that statement is where?

You want to talk about responsibility for bloodshed, torture, death, destruction, pillaging and so forth as it pertains to religious motivations and rationalizations?

What was that line again about being the first to cast stones?

Science is a-political/a-moral, just like math, it is what people do with it that makes the application moral or immoral. You can’t say that Newtonian Physics is immoral because Hitler used it to guide his rockets to hit London.

It is a false point from the start.

What? Care to re write that in english?

HAHAHAHAHA!

Your just a shining example of why people like Hilter rise to power aren’t you.

Hey, now that God’s law doesn’t apply to you, shouldn’t you be out enjoying things previously forbidden?

After all, it was only those darn Christians holding you back, right?

Their claims of the moral high ground are as sound and grounded as their claims about science.

Why the vitriol? Did you suddenly realize that you have no rational basis for your moral code?

It sounds more like Purdom and Lisle are trying to convince themselves of their moral superiority rather than convince others.

Cause we know how "moral" all the other atheists of the world past have been right? Pharaoh, Alexander the great, Khan, Pol Pot, Mao, Hitler,

Just so rightous, as were all his followers...

The only light this world has ever seen is the less than 2 centuries in which the SON of God's church had risen, the greatest times were at it's Peak, and now it is setting, and we see all the "morality" of the pagan world quickly leading it to it's destruction.

There's some evolution for you.

You´re the one who keeps bringing up christianity, not me. I´m talking about biblical morality.

There is never a reason to be moral, not even with belief in a moral God. One can only be motivated by conscience and the holy spirit.

ROFL! Again with the holier than thou horsecrap. You are doing yourself a disfavor with such gutter garbage, but that does not surprise me in the least.

Now, go fit your significant other for a nice ankle length black burkha and see if your camels need tending while you're at it.

False argument on several points, first, it is false to assume that believing in evolution = being atheist.
Secondly, most of the people you listed where not atheist, not Christian, but not atheist. Finally, there is that little thing of ‘original sin’, we are all born immoral, part of our nature, thus, even the religious have the same morality choices as the non-religious and history shows humans of all beliefs fail at that point.

Funny how you're quoting murderous passages from the Koran (which are certainly vile) but completely ignore my reference to the equally vile 1 Samuel 15:2-3 in which God orders the extermination of a city full of women and children.

Actually, the greatest period of Science, has been during the height of the church, as the church was never opposed to science, despite the false claims of some haters. The TRUTH will Lead to God, as God is truth.

Before that, the atheist of the day killed every scientist he didn’t like, As we see developing to day the ‘evolution theorists’ (that’s not even science) want to control whats considered ‘science’ today, what direction studies should go, (ie it must support evolution) when their “science” in merely a belief, a RELIGION itself.
