WASHINGTON – The White House says Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor acknowledges she made a poor word choice in a 2001 speech in which she said that a Latina judge would often reach a better conclusion than a white male judge who hasn't lived the same life.
That's according to presidential spokesman Robert Gibbs. He says he has not talked directly to Sotomayor about it but has spoken to people who have.

That quote is the exact reason 0bama chose her. It's funny that now they claim she made a "poor word choice."
Yeah what she meant to say was, “Whitey don’t know ______!” Judging from the New Haven firefigher case I would say that racist POS said exactly what she meant.

Fore me, this is a diversion and, while an issue...not the most important one.
Republicans need to find some cojones and simply state the facts...that minority candidates proposed by Republican presidents were never spared criticism due to their ethnicity/sex.
The Supreme Court is the HIGHEST court in the land.
Now, what did she mean when she said in a paper that Americans who have firearms are breaking the law because the right to bear arms only applies to the military?
Game over.

She had a poor upbringing. But wait! So did Obama. Was the Judge a Community Activist?" ...and so on. Might take all day for a committed liberal socialist to figure out which one of them is more worthy of an apology.

She’ll be meeting with some Senators next week.
It seems very few in the GoP side of the aisle. or at least the “leaders’ want to measure words.. or even mention certain words that her thoughts/beliefs have loosed.
Wording is the fabric of the Supreme Court.
There is no room on the Supreme Court for someone who chooses her words poorly.
