N Korean Foreign Ministry Statement
(North) Korean Central News Agency of DPRK ^ | May 29. 2009 Juche 98 | DPRK spokesman

Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- The DPRK Foreign Ministry issued a statement as regards the UNSC's threat to put additional sanctions against the DPRK, terming its successful nuclear test a violation of the UNSC Resolution 1718.

At present, some countries were shocked at the news of the DPRK's second nuclear test. But an exceptional act has its exceptional reason. The recent nuclear test conducted by the DPRK is the 2054th one on the earth. The five permanent members of the UNSC have conducted 99.99 percent of all the nuclear tests.

From the link

The U.S. is keen on using a catchphrase "Carrot and stick." It would be better for the "Donkey" of the U.S. Democratic Party to lick the carrot.

Hmmmmm. Was something lost in translation?

Post was clipped off, here's the rest:

This resolution fabricated by the hypocrites has immediately invited a total rejection by the DPRK and we still do not recognize such resolution.

The UNSC has committed such unprecedented crime as the wanton infringement upon the right of a sovereign state to explore outer space for peaceful purposes and, instead of repenting of it, it is proactive in its outcry to cover up its crime.

There is a limit to our patience.

In the final analysis, they mean small countries should obey big countries.

we solemnly demanded that the UNSC make an apology for its crime of having seriously encroached upon the sovereignty of a sovereign state in gross violation of the Space Treaty and that it withdraw all its previously-crafted, unfair resolutions and decisions.

As long as the UNSC fails to respond to the DPRK's just demand, the DPRK will not recognize any resolution and decision of the UNSC in the future, too.

The end of the Cold War worldwide works only between big powers, but a Cold War still persists on the Korean Peninsula.

Any hostile act by the UNSC immediately means the abrogation of the Armistice Agreement.

Here's the most interesting statement:

The U.S. is keen on using a catchphrase "Carrot and stick."

It would be better for the "Donkey" of the U.S. Democratic Party to lick the carrot.

I am checking the original version in Korean. Not sure if the phrase correctly translates to licking the carrot or eating the carrot. "Eating" may be more accurate.

Some speculation that there is a sexual reference to the original statement. Unsure.

Even the Soviet Union could come up with better propaganda.

At present, some countries were shocked at the news of the DPRK's second nuclear test.

Those who lack common sense, it's to be expected.

Lee Myung Bak Group’s Sycophancy and Servility to Japan Flayed

Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) — The puppet prime minister of south Korea, when meeting Japanese Prime Minister Aso recently, vociferated about “building of future-oriented and matured partnership” and “close cooperation in handling north Korea’s missile and nuclear issues,” etc.

Traitor Lee Myung Bak, too, in his recent telephone conversation with Aso cried out for “international cooperation,” taking issue with the DPRK’s nuclear test aimed at bolstering up its nuclear deterrent for self-defence.

The Secretariat of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea in its information bulletin No. 949 issued on May 29 denounces these reckless remarks made by the group of the traitors as the thrice-cursed sycophancy and treachery to serve Japan as they are aimed at escalating the confrontation with fellow countrymen in conspiracy with the sworn enemy of the Korean nation.

What is more intolerable is that the Lee group is soliciting “international cooperation” from the Japanese reactionaries in the anti-DPRK campaign, not content with speaking ill of the DPRK, terming its satellite launch and nuclear test “threat to peace” and “provocation.”

The information bulletin goes on:

As already clarified more than once, the DPRK has bolstered up the nuclear deterrent for self-defence in order to reliably protect the dignity and sovereignty of the country and the nation from the hostile policies of the U.S., Japanese reactionaries and other forces of aggression toward the DPRK and their moves to ignite a war and champion peace on the Korean Peninsula.

The group of traitors are the group of “five traitors of 1905” of contemporary type who should not be allowed to go scot-free any longer as they are keen to stifle compatriots in collusion with the sworn enemy of the nation, unaware of how much they benefit from the DPRK’s Songun politics.

The DPRK will never pardon the group of traitors for its hideous acts of treachery adding to the crimes it has committed against the nation but force it to pay a thousand-fold price for them.

The Lee group would be well advised to stop going reckless, clearly mindful that it will face only a stern and merciless judgment of the nation and a miserable end for its sycophancy and treachery and confrontation with the DPRK.
