Judge Sotomayor, in Her Own Words
Commentary Magazine ^ | June 2nd, 2009 | Peter Wehner

A lot of controversy has been generated by Judge Sonia Sotomayor’s statement “I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life.” In an effort to repair the damage, President Obama’s press secretary, Robert Gibbs, said, “Well, I think if you look at the context of the longer speech that she makes, I don’t — I think what she says is very much common sense in terms of different experiences that different people have.”

Does he really really think that? Too bad there’s not a reporter who has the guts to ask him if he really believes that, then would he have a problem with a white male saying the same thing about his experiences as a white male.

The judge in her own words: Hey whitey, sit down and shut up. We won. Change. Sounds a lot like the guy who is calling hisself president. And a lot lot line the state run media.

Aren’t Judges supposed to be blind to everything except “The Law”? We have too many judges that are activist motivated and so we ended up with Roe v Wade...etc

That's not racist! /sarc

Technically, she said she would "hope" the decision would usually be better. Ya know, hope, change. Hope, change.

My mother had a pithy saying about hope of this type (which I won't repeat here) that essentially described it's futility.

If the quote is really about richness of experience vs. its lack, then why bring race and gender into it?

(Answer: because it’s not.)

The key word here is “wise”.
Who says Sotomayor possesses wisdom?
The tape of Sotomayor stating unashamedly that she makes policy from the bench demonstrates the woman has no wisdom. If she possessed wisdom she would have never made that statement or the othe statement about inferior white male judges.

I was struck by her lack of class, her lack of bearing, her lack of stature, her lack of demeanor. Her slovenly bearing and appearance, a scowling sneaky looking face made me thing of what a photo of the nine justices of the Supreme Court would look like.

What the heck, the United States is done for anyway, the whackjobs got control and are swinging for the fences and are scoring big time. By the time hyper-inflation devalues our dollar to absolutely nothing we’ll have more to worry about than the whackjobs (all assets will evaporate), we’ll be a third world nation. Hey but, we’ll be a green third world nation with world class government healthcare.
What amazes me is the ease and speed at which all this is occuring. Obama seems to be on a deliberate course to ruin the Unites States — maybe that friendship with William Ayers was more than just casual.

Our founding fathers spirits have to be tormented by the destruction of the greatest nation ever to exist.

Don't be so glum chum. The whackjobs got control, but they did it by electing moderates, not electing moonbats. IIRC, 27 rats in the Senate voted with the GOP for concealed carry in national parks. The moonbats and Obama are heading for a cliff. What do they want to do that has the support of the public?

BTW, welcome to Free Republic.
