Authorities say two women were gunned down at a Broward County gas station by a former boyfriend who was later found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound on the side of the road.
...
Court records show that one of the victims, Jillian Hauck, sought a temporary restraining order against Vaughan in Broward County but later withdrew the petition.

These two women were killed a week ago. One of them sought a restraining order, but then withdrew, probably because she was told the police could do nothing to protect her and having an order might just make the man mad at her.
Tiller was shot, and within a day Holder had sent (apparently idle) US Marshalls to guard abortion clinics, even though Tiller wasn't shot there.
Meanwhile, women are dying almost daily because we don't have law enforcement to protect them when they get restraining orders against violent men.
If Holder is going to send marshalls where they might actually save a life, he should get a list of women with restraining orders and put the marshalls on guard there instead of wasting them at abortion clinics.
He might also want to guard recruiting stations, since there has been more violence there than against abortion clinics, and unlike state-chartered abortion clinics, the military recruiting stations are actually a federal responsibility.
You said — I post this because of the Tiller shooting.

All shooters, like that should get the death penalty. It doesn’t matter whether they shoot abortionists or girlfriends. They’re all the same. So, treat them the same, as murderers.
And the laws should be changed (also) to make abortion murder in this country — and the receptionists at those places should be given the death penalty, the office workers should be given the death penalty, the rest of the staff should be given the death penalty, the abortionist should be given the death penalty — and the woman having the abortion should be given the death penalty...
You have to admit that, for a single sentence, that one is loaded.
You're fired.
We’re going to need photos of all three.
You’re lucky that this thread is not locked.
its not like a restraining order is going to stop a killer, ask that lady in Buffalo who had her head chopped off
Guess all ex-lovers are to blame for these crimes.
We don't have enough police to protect everyone 24x7 if they have a restraining order against someone potentially violent. That's what guns are for.
If we’re going to remain consistent...
You are correct, a restraining order doesn’t do much. My point is that the Obama admistration, in reaction to Tiller’s death, is sending US marshalls to guard abortion clinics, supposedly to prevent more deaths and to protect people at the clinics who might feel threatened.
But meanwhile, women who are ACTUALLY threatened, and have court orders to prove it, can’t get any protection, and are getting killed with regularity. And they don’t get their names on national TV, and the Obama administration wastes our money guarding abortion clinics while nobody guards these women.
That is true, but apparently we have enough idle US Marshals to guard the abortion clinics, which are not under any real threat.
My point is that we can make the argument that while Obama is making a show of wasting our tax dollars putting US Marshals at abortion clinics, women are being killed by real threats because we don’t have the ability to guard them.
“a self-inflicted gunshot wound on the side of the road.”
Gunshot wounds on the side of the road are usually not fatal.
Such bravery to ambush & shoot two unarmed women.
Yet such a coward to face the consequences. Wad da matter little man, afraid of an 8’ x 10’ cell and a cellmate named Bubba?

RIP.
That belief is why I bothered to teach all my children how to shoot both pistols and long guns. Sam ain't goona take of you, the local bulls won't either.
The law on your side is the law AT your side.
