Move to Repeal Presidential Term Limits
The Voice magazine ^ | June 11, 2009 | Brian Burke

Liberals have always covetted the return of Clinton in the Oval Office. Those were the days, if only he could run again, they dream. Can you imagine unlimited terms for any president? Nixon perhaps or Bush the second? Maybe we should bring Carter back? God forbid. Now they have Obama. What if President Barack Obama could be our President forever? Imagine that?

I know, you think this could never be in the home of the free. But Democrat Congressman José Serrano (NY) had the audicity to propose an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would allow this to happen. He introduced the House Joint Resolution 5 (HJR5) entitled: "Proposing an Amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President."

Look at a map of the United States, and look at not the states, but the individual counties of the entire country, marked with either “red” (conservative) or “blue” (liberal) in their voting patterns.

Two highly divergent countries emerge, the nearly contiguous “red” country, which has far more land area, and is representated at least in part in nearly every state, and a badly fragmented “blue” country, which is very spotty and largely concentrated on the East Coast, the West Coast, and isolated pockets around the Great Lakes and in larger population centers sprinkled across the heartland.

Declare these as two separate nations, and let them form their own governments, one of which is willing to hold to the original wording of the Declaration of Independence and most (not all) of the wording of the US Constitution as amended. The other country may set up whatever the hell kind of third-world strongman mob rule they want, but just stay out of our hair and inside their enclaves.

Then enforce that.

It will have to be ratified by the States. NOT going to happen.

The RINO'S and RATS do not understand or care about the constitution.

One day seveal years ago I walked past the office of a young dolly we had recently hired. She was frowning over the road atlas on her desk. Never one to miss a chance to talk with her, I asked what the problem was.

She explained she and her fiance wanted to go skiing but she couldn’t find New England. She thought it was a state...

I agree. No politician should serve more than 2 terms.

Additional terms in a Federal penitentiary, beyond the customary two, however, may be mandatory....

It’s a Constitutional amendment and a new amendment to remove it has to be ratified by 2/3 of the states.

Beware any politician in any office, right down to school board, who hold on too long or to tightly to the office.

Every office needs fresh manure from time to time.

Liberals think the American people want a King or Fuhrer with no elections and no accountability to the people. Wasn’t that decided in 1776??? Oh, yes, they want to throw out our Constitution and Bill of Rights as well. I think not.

I shake my head in disbelief at the stupidity. But given the fawning over Zero’s speech in Cairo, it’s obvious that History and Geography are ancient arts.
