U.S. Fortifies Hawaii to Meet Threat From Korea

WASHINGTON -- The U.S. is moving ground-to-air missile defenses to Hawaii as tensions escalate between Washington and Pyongyang over North Korea's recent moves to restart its nuclear-weapon program and resume test-firing long-range missiles.
Defense Secretary Robert Gates said on Thursday that the U.S. is concerned that Pyongyang might soon fire a missile toward Hawaii. Some senior U.S. officials expect a North Korean test by midsummer, even though most don't believe the missile would be capable of crossing the Pacific and reaching Hawaii.
Mr. Gates told reporters that the U.S. is positioning a sophisticated floating radar array in the ocean around Hawaii to track an incoming missile. The U.S. is also deploying missile-defense weapons to Hawaii that would theoretically be capable of shooting down a North Korean missile, should such an order be given, he said.
"We do have some concerns if they were to launch a missile to the west, in the direction of Hawaii," Mr. Gates said. "We are in a good position, should it become necessary, to protect American territory."

I feel as if I’m living in the Twilight Zone. Can anyone imagine we would be reading a headline like this if Bush or Reagan were in the White House, instead of the wimp in charge there now?
I think an appropriate response to this nonsense would be to deliver a personal message to Ding Dong: “If you launch a misile towards American territory or attack our allies, we will immediately incinerate your capital and assorted other cities.”
Nothing goes in NK that the Chicoms don't know about or control.
Remember, the Chicoms are about "discipline" and protection for themselves.
They don't need to become a superpower.

That aside, I personally feel a lot safer now that 0bama has cut the unnecessary, ineffective, and provocative anti-missile program and sent the money we saved by not developing a technology against a threat that nobody has, to defend against the real threat, a Republican election victory, by giving the money to community activists such as ACORN. Can't say just how much better I feel.
Seriously, we might ask 0bama's administration one question - if they had had their way, would there even be assets to deploy? I'm sure they'll get right back to us on that one.

Even if it hits one of the islands and kills thousands, the most we will do is send some State Department idiot in front of the camera to profess our "concern" over such a "profound act of aggression". Then, we'll go to the UN and ask for a condemnation of North Korea, and possible sanctions.
