Dubai, Jun 20 : Saudi Arabia has denied media reports that it intends to allow Israeli military planes to fly over its airspace....''No Saudi official has met with any Israeli official. There was no such meeting to discuss this matter in any form,'' the SPA said quoting the Ministry of Defence and Aviation source as saying

Obiviously any such undisclosed agreement with Israel is for the express purposes of providing the Israeli Air Force a more direct passage to portions of Iran's nuclear facilities ....

FYI Israeli news sources are also reporting on this story

Of COURSE the Arab countries do NOT want Iran to get nukes.

Of COURSE the Arab countries NEVER want to support an an attack on Iran, by Israel, -— at least they will never admit that they support it!

Just like I have been predicting. The Saudi’s will turn a blind eye to a flyover and blame the “Little Satans” devilish technology for fooling them. The fact that both sides “officially deny” a deal is more telling. Also I believe part of the raid will come from forward airbases in India.

Notice they deny a meeting. They do not deny that Israeli military may overfly Saudi Arabia.

'No Saudi official has met with any Israeli official.

This carefully constructed sentence makes me think there's something there. It's a very Clintonesque denial.

Hmm, sounds like a “Baghdad Bob” denial. How good is their radar coverage over the empty quarter?

The question is, are the Saudis better off with a nuclear Iran or a non nuclear Iran?

Israeli plains might have a backup option when returning from the operation, ie land (at least in emergency situations) in US air base in Afghanishan, or in Turkey or in Georgia.

The first strike would likely go over Iraq (only first strike), with some additional planes using other routes. I would assume that Israel might have couple of fully equipped planes visiting frequently air bases in Georgia and Turkey (so that one day they might pay a visit to Iran, instead of returning home).

Polynikes,
I know we built bases and trained and supplied the Saudi military. We even had our military stationed there.
Does Saudi Arabia have the ability to do harm to the iesraelis?
I.A.F. is a pretty good force but I do not know just how accomplished the Saudi’s are?
And If Israel just flew through Iraq or Saudi or whose ever airspace can anyone really do anything other than the U.S.?

Probably could do some damage but I think the IAF would just blow thru them for the most part. I still say the Saudi’s will turn a blind eye if the IAF shows up. I have been reading that the Gulf states have been on a shopping spree for antimissile defenses. They are geared up for possible Iranian retaliation.

No Israeli bases in Afghanistan. The airbases there are full to capacity with Coalition assets. No more room or ramp space for anything extra. Far too many troops, civilians who are also aircraft enthusiasts with cameras for Israeli aircraft to be there. Also think of access? The nation is surrounded by Islamic nations who wouldn’t grant Israeli air force overflight rights. The only route in for them would be Afghan/Chinese border and then you would have the problem of keeping the Israeli air deployment secret.

Remember that Afghanistan is a sovereign nation. It doesn’t belong to the U.S. or any other Coalition nation. Those forces are guests there and the Islamic government of Afghanistan wouldn’t allow Israeli forces to be stationed there.
