The Coming Obama Dictatorship
Red South

Posted on 06/28/2009 1:12:21 PM PDT by RED SOUTH

Many posts and replies indicate that there is a real fear that Obama , who has arrogant despot tendancies , will set himself up as a dictator. As he continues to slip in polling toward Bush and Carter numbers and as his agenda fails to pass this summer many watch nervously to see how he will act out. Keep in mind rule number 1 in setting yourself up as a dictator. It requires the full support of the military. No dictatorship has ever survived or succeeded without the military. The military is usually the source of a coup. Our soldiers are patriots and an overwhelming number of them hate the pretender in chief. The odds of coup against Obama are more realistic than a dictatorship set up by the empty suit. When we look back at this after the 2012 election , after our long national nightmare is over and the pretender in chief is voted out , it will be clear that he was nothing more than an empty suit affirmative action created President that got in way over his head. The democrats will be banished for a generation as we witness the communist pigs they really are.

Aren't these what the soviets called "political officers"? Sounds like the exact same thing

Well sort of. We prefer to call it "civilian control of the military". All Presidents put their guys in at the top echelons, down about 3 or 4 levels at the DoD, and 2-3 levels in the service secretariats. Uniformed members aside. They don' work for those civilians anyway, at least those in the combat commands, except for the Secretary of Defense. The chain of command goes from the President to the SecDef to the combat commanders. It goes through the Chairman of the Joint chiefs, but only for communications purposes. The Chairman is the principal military advisor to the President, the SecDef and the National Security Council. I pity the poor SOB right now.

Thus all those civilians affect mainly procurement and R&D, not operational matters. Again, with the exception or some of those who work at DoD, and thus advise the SecDef.

Regarding that pic of the Waco massacre, keep in mind that it was done by federal law enforcement, NOT the military.

That’s a great question. I wonder if anyone in the military knows the answer. My only answer would be, once all of my comrades in arms come forward and say, “enough is enough, it’s time that we act. The government is out of control so we must act to defend the republic and the United States Constitution.”

It doesn’t matter that 90 percent of the military loathes Obama. What matters is the 3 and 4 star Generals sitting at the JCS and subordinate commands. Some (most?) of these guys are paper-pushing yes men who will just follow orders of the CIC to the letter. If the CIC declares a national emergency, requiring him to become, in effect, a dictator, the Generals will fall in line.

As a twenty-eight year veteran I can say this is absolutely true, and many many citizens who, now in this era, have never had contact with the military cannot understand what you are saying.

The Soviet Union had a massive military, generals, missiles, tanks, submarines, etc, etc, so how can anyone project that a "military" cannot be oriented and controlled by a centralized Party?

Generals do not necessarily have any finer values than any other national citizens who fall into the line of the "Party". Witness currently, Sestak (Admiral), Clinton's guy in Bosnia, even John McCain.

The point is, and has always been, each and every one of us, and our neighbors, better know what freedom and its responsibilities are, for every one of us is on the frontlines.

3. remove ALL firearms from the citizens.

Didn't some guys in red uniforms under a General Gage try that one time?

I seem to remember it didn't work out well for them.

Compare these to any similar photos of the military with Bush. Back then they were proud to shake the Commander in Chief’s hand!

Obama will seek to first destroy free speech over the airwaves by re-enacting the Fairness Doctrine or some type of "diversity" standard for the ownership of radio and TV stations. Internet censorship will be accomplished with "hate speech" laws and control over accessing certain sites sold to block access to child porn ...Australia has already gone that route. Key targets will be conservative talk radio, blogs and sites like this.

The Second Amendment will be thwarted with high taxes on guns and ammunition and reversing the Heller decision by new appointments to the SCOTUS.

Obama will consolidate power with a government take over of the MSM. ABC's recent sellout will be just the start as the White House will continue to dictate "news" to a willing media.

Events in Honduras today may be repeated here with the military removing a corrupt leftist president from office.

They are civilian political policy appointees, not commissars. Obama has no chance of setting himself up as a dictator with military support.

Not many direct answers are forthcoming.

They aren't stupid you know. Direct answers would quite likely be construed as violations of good order and discipline, plus being a threat to Civilian Control. IOW, something lead to court martial.

“Our soldiers are patriots and an overwhelming number of them hate the pretender in chief.”

But they take their orders from their officers who take their orders from the Pentagon. It will surprise me if the soldiers don’t obey the establishment. They are highly trained to do just that.

But our military has never had to turn against its own president. It’s drilled into most soldiers that you defend your contry and the president is the leader of the country so, therefore, the president needs defending at all costs. To stage a coup would mean having to go against every instinct they have had for over a century.

Unless Barky can figure out another way, he's SOL.

What do you think the "civilian national security force" is for?

“It’s drilled into most soldiers that you defend your contry and the president is the leader of the country so, therefore, the president needs defending at all costs.”

ESPECIALLY when those opposing him will be presented as “insane Right-Wing Whacko Militia-types”, or somesuch...

If the time ever comes, the military will devolve rapidly along racial lines, I fear.

I doubt history would stop this administration from trying however.

Unfortunately, I fear you may be right. It was far more important to Colin Powell to vote for a person his color than to support his party. If the news is spun correctly we may see a divided military fighting against itself and the right-wing gun-toting whackos.

I think you don't know the chief's, nor the combatant commanders, the servicemen and the law. And as much as I loath Gates, even that back-side kisser wouldn't go along with anything near backing a coup. . .or some other such nonsense.
