Speaker Pelosi's Energy Tax: More Mandates, More Regulations, More Costs (Sell Your House Now!)

Speaker Pelosi’s national energy tax is going to raise electricity prices, increase gasoline prices, and ship American jobs overseas to countries like China and India. This, we know.

It would be a bureaucratic nightmare overseen by a confusing web of government agencies that would take and redistribute trillions of dollars from family budgets and workers payrolls. This, we also know.

BUT WHAT DON'T WE KNOW? Here are some facts you may not know about Speaker Pelosi’s national energy tax:

HOMEBUYERS BEWARE. Trying to save up for a new home? You may have to save up a little longer for your purchase. The Democrats’ bill would dramatically increase new home costs by mandating California’s expensive new building codes for the entire nation. Immediately upon enactment, the Democrats’ bill would demand a 30 percent increase in energy efficiency for new construction. A couple of years later, the Democrats’ bill would require an additional 50 percent improvement.

HOMEBUILDERS BEWARE. The Democrats’ bill imposes new mandatory regulations and civil penalties for homebuilders. If your state refuses to accept the stringent and costly California building codes, the federal government may assess penalties.

HOME SELLERS BEWARE. Having a hard time selling your home? Here’s one more hurdle to jump: all homes sales are conditioned upon an energy audit and a new energy rating assessment and energy labeling program for your home that’s outlined in the Democrats’ bill. And if you thought you could improve your property with a fresh coat of paint and some granite counters? Think again! Now your home will be subjected to a new energy rating assessment and energy labeling program that will penalize you for older windows, original fixtures, and dated appliances. So the Democrats’ bill would bring down the value of your home!

We've got to get the word out to our non-Free Republic friends about this nightmarish cap and trade bill (now the American Clean Energy and Security Act) before the Senate vote. If you want to try a humorous approach, here's a link to a very funny you tube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Si-htSSHxsE. If you like it, digg it and send it on to your contacts.

GB mentioned on his show today that a provisions in the bill mandates that all houses built in the future must adhere to California standards. And, that utility plugs must be available at all businesses to allow for plugging up you electric car.

They seem to be following the initiatives of George Brown in the UK. He tried to introduce a scheme of inspections of a house before it is put up for sale. It is more far reaching than what I am hearing in the Pelosi/Obozo version.

Prediction: on top of all the present taxes, a ‘green tax’ on flying based on distance travelled and class of service. That would rake in $ gazillions.

And all of this “green” BS and crazy assed schemes are based upon a false premise of humans causing global warming. I cannot get my head around the idea that people are falling for it. Lemmings.

I live in an apt. I’ll just say that I’m poor and that this is a federal government housing project.

I wonder how Jimmah’s Habitat for Humanity homes will fare in an audit. What standards are they built to?

***OH please... Don’t start a panic about selling one’s house just now!!!***

NO, it’s good news.

Existing homes will sell like crazy because the $$$ per square foot will be so much less than the new homes with all those costly mandates.

Lets see if I understand this:

Alaska has a energy policy which encourages development of natural resources in an environmental friendly manner. As a result they run a surplus and give money back to their citizens.

California has an energy policy that discourages development of its natural resources in the name of being environmentally friendly. As a result they have to tax the hell out of their citizens and purchase energy from out of state.

Final Jeopardy question: Which state does the Federal Government use as their model for an energy policy?

Da da da... da da da, da da

Ding! Times up. Let’s see your answers.

First we go to contestant Pelosi... Mrs. Pelosi says California! That is Correct! Whats your wager. $5,000,000,000 for your friends and family. How generous.

Next we go to Mr. Reid... Mr. Reid says California! That is Correct! Whats your wager. $10,000,000,000 for your retirement fund. Outstanding!

Finally we go to Mr. Obama... Mr. Obama says California! That is Correct! Whats your wager. $3,000,000,000,000 for your health care. You must be planning a big operation!

Join us next week when the final Jeopardy question is about the Acorn census.
