Now here is the real curios case:
To: Tolik
Apparently she possesses that rarest of all commodities: intellectual consistency. (Not seen much ‘round here, that’s for sure).

I feel as though I need a shower after going there. I can understand that. Intellectually speaking, visiting DU is like diving into a dirty swimming pool left uncovered near a wood line for a couple seasons.

Agreed. Dare I say it, Helen has delegated herself to typical white woman status with the Zero administration. Yes.
What she did, challenging this adminstration in that way, was racist!
Helen, to my knowledge, never challenged any white presidents on press access/press control in the past 40 years - did she. /sarc

Is it me, or is Helen Thomas getting just a little bit cuter? She wouldn't look too bad if she lost about 100 pounds, got her face lifted and her nose fixed.
She might have to so the Obama minions won't recognize her if they go after her for this! It might be a matter of survival.
If I had her money, I would.

I am SO PROUD of Helen, and I’m being 100% sincere. After all those decades of investing herself in liberalism, she went with the courage of her convictions, even though she was in opposition. Helen is to be commended. Good for her!
To: abishai
Um, before you get serious, it’s a good idea to meet her mother.

I emailed Helen Thomas in support of her challenge. The walls are beginning to crumble when Helen takes notice of what we have known all along.
Her email address is: hthomas@hearstdc.com
The press is full of themselves and we can use this unveiling to our advantage. The press can make the Obama administration's time in office a living hell.
By the way Helen wrote me back and thanked me for my positive and supportive comments.

I watched it on FOX and what I came away with is that she is not upset with the scripted questions but that the hand picked town-hall people were the ones getting to ask the scripted questions and that she and the other journalists were bypassed in the process. At some point she says it is not the questions but the process....It more like she was saying “I just brought a new pair of Official Presidential Obama-Knee-Pads and your not letting me try them out because I don't have a scripted question to be asked.”

What's your point? The point's that inside of Helen might be the old time hard nosed reporter who calls it like she sees it. That's cool - makes it easy to "forgive" her for snippy questions to Bush. If she offends everyone equally ( with ONE standard) she A-OK with me.

I didn’t get that impression. But it’s partly from the context of earlier press conferences and I think the HBO(?) show I watched on her last month - “Thank You, Mr. President: Helen Thomas .....”.
Indeed, the process IS the problem. Gibbs kept saying in essence they could tell him if the questions were poor, etc. Thomas and Reid were saying the questions aren’t the POINT; it’s how the questions get in. They get to choose which questions are easy to answer, make them look good, AND have a practiced answer.
I think HT was folding into this conversation, about hand-picked questions at a “town hall”, her own irritation about earlier being told they have to send their questions to the Press Sec before the press conferences. That is why she said “we never” and “why do we have to e-mail? I can do it right now” and so on.
She KNOWS it’s a town hall, so doesn’t involve press, per se.
