Palin to RESIGN as Alaska Governor

UPDATE: Palin To Resign As Alaska Governor UPDATE: KTUU-TV in Anchorage reports that Palin not only won't seek re-election, but will resign later this month.

ORIGINAL POST: Gov. Sarah Palin (R) has announced she will not run for re-election in 2010, CNN reports. She's scheduled to make an announcement shortly.

The decision frees Palin to travel in the Lower 48 as she considers a potential run for president in 2012. A re-election campaign could also have been tough on the former vice presidential nominee; her approval rating has dropped from stratospheric highs, and a number of candidates in both parties are said to be considering runs.

Even if she won, the race would have been dominated by the specter of a presidential bid, giving her adversaries an opportunity to wound her politically. She's still fending off ethics complaints, many spurred by the "Troopergate" scandal.

The way her personal finances & the finances of the state of Alaska were being bled dry is a good reason that she is stepping down. Shamefully some people who live in the state were among those doing it.

It's crazy to spend the rest of her time fighting them - to the detriment of her state. As long as she is the Governor - it will just continue & get even worse as election time draws closer.

I think she is very courageous & made a good decision. She does care about the state & Alaskans should be very proud that she served them well.

I was just going to post the same thing. She’s finally someone I agree with. Re: NE elitists not used to her plain way of speaking.

Sadly, I agree with every single word you say.

I have stated it on other places on the internet, Republicans are dead for a generation or 2

With that, anti-statists as well

Only three years as a governor in a very sparsely populated state will be a deal-breaker to a great number of Americans

Yeah, the same number that didn't see only three years as a Senator from a very corrupt state as a deal breaker for our current President.

The move is a side step to free herself from the conflict of interest ethics charges that the Dem activists have tied her up with. A half million dollars in legal expenses to fight those is not a small thing to a middle income family, nor is it a good use of her time to be spending most of it fighting these frivolous evil activist lawyers.

That tactic is one the DEMS use to bankrupt opponents and thus deny them their free speech rights.

I'm glad she is now free to speak out without having to shell out for the privilege.

Andrea Mitchell is happy to think the “oh so middle class” Gov. Palin won’t be sullying her news cycles. Those on the left, drunk with Obama love, should be wary...they may have finally met their match.

Thank you bray, you wrote an excellent summary of the difference between ‘us and them’. Sarah IS that clean breath of fresh air and she certainly proved herself in her accomplishments.

” She may just be leaving the dirty biz of politics. God bless her .. she’s too good, has too many wonderful qualities to be constantly vilified and mocked incessantly.”

” My thoughts exactly. “

Dittos . And I think she knows that she could never win a Presidential election in 2012 . The media and Rats relentless attacks have poisoned her in the minds of just too many people . Shame but there you have it . No way she runs in 2012 . Take it to the bank .

ok took me a while to figure this out. Sarah is breaking the mold, she is picking the battlefield rather then let the enemy laid siege to her in Alaska. She is not quiting, she is going on the offensive, she can't do that fighting endless trivial law suits as the governor of Alaska.

Sarah is truely a great American, she not fighting for personal gain or higher office, she is fighting for her principles and if higher office comes great. If not that is fine too. She is one of a kind, Go Sarah!

Who knows what her future is but I would think this could be the worst nightmare for elitists on both sides.

Pray for America and Gov Palin
