Retired general, lieutenant colonel join reservist’s lawsuit

A controversial suit brought by a U.S. Army reservist has been joined by a retired Army two-star general and an active reserve Air Force lieutenant colonel.

Maj. Stefan Frederick Cook filed the suit July 8 in federal court here asking for conscientious objector status and a preliminary injunction based upon his belief that President Barack Obama is not a natural-born citizen of the United States and is therefore ineligible to serve as president of the United States and commander-in-chief of the U.S. Armed Forces.

However, before the issue got to court, Cook’s orders to deploy to Afghanistan were revoked. Lt. Col. Maria Quon, a public affairs officer with the U.S. Army Human Resources Command-St. Louis, said Tuesday that Cook was no longer expected to report Wednesday to MacDill Air Force Base in Florida for mobilization to active duty. Cook, who claims he is now the victim of retaliation due to his suit, received his mobilization orders to report for active duty at MacDill on Wednesday. From there, he was to go to Fort Benning on Saturday for deployment to Afghanistan.

Barack’s Mom got married in Feb 1961 in Hawaii (3 months pregnant). His Dad was taking classes at the local university and got a degree from it in 1962 and then moved on to Harvard. His mom was in Wash St, w/ baby, enrolled in a local univesity there in Jan 1962. Obama was born somewhere in Aug 1961.

I’m not Obama-bot (check out my posting record), but I don’t get the interest - it seems most likely to me he was born right there in Hawaii. Why would these parents take a quick vacation during the summer break to Kenya when she was 9 months pregnant? If either of them had stared a life in Kenya soon afterward, I’d have a reason to believe they would take a trip to Kenya under those circumstances.

Am I missing something? Why do people think his parents weren’t in the states in Aug 1961?

To meet the family. Also, just because documents shows someone taking classes in college does not mean they are there.

Better question, why won't obama just bring out the COLB and be done with it?

I don’t get the interest

well, for most, the interest started with Zero's own books. As most people do with presidential candidates who are relatively unknown, people wanted to know about this person. Where did he go to school? what kind of friends did he have? what did he do with the first quarter century of his life? What did he accomplish as a senator? Who did he hang with as a senator? What did he accomplish as a community activist? What ties did he build? That kind of stuff.

And what people found over and over again was sealed records, missing records, nonexistent records, etc, and when people fought to have these records accessable, that candidate, now elected, starting spending millions (of taxpayer dollars) making those records inaccessable. That's interesting. In fact, it's unprecidentedly interesting.

Now you add all that together with the no people, questionable people, hidden people, downright strange people this candidate, now elected, has surrounded or denied surrounding himself with, or continues to surround himself with (galpal Valerie Jarret, anyone?), coupled with Zero's apparent inability to stay in one place more than two days, and it's practically Stephen King level interesting.

Because being born in Hawaii would make him a native born citizen, but not a NATURAL born one.

It isn't the location of the birth, it's the citizenship of the father.

McCain is natural-born, despite the fact the was born on foreign soil. Obama can NEVER be natural-born even IF he was born in Hawaii.

The fuss is about **natural** born status.

If it is true that Barack’s dad was a British subject then, Obama had dual allegiances at birth. Even if, as Orly Taitz says, he was born in the Lincoln bedroom of the White House, he can not be a **natural** born citizen.

And...Why doesn't Obama produce his birth certificate anyway? He's going to a lot of trouble and expense to hide something all citizens commonly use at various stages of our lives.

Check out this video interview with Orly.

According to Orly, even “if” Hussein was born in the WH,
it doesn’t necessarily make him eligible to be POTUS.

Thanks to all for the replies. I’m not in the states right now, and only just got back to civlization where I have access to internet, WSJ, etc., so I’ve missed this issue. It is an interesting question - what exactly does it mean to be “natural” vs “native” born citizen. It seems you should prove your eligibility BEFORE you are allowed to get on the ballots.

I bet the courts will do everything they can to distort definitions so they don’t have to create a real doosie of an issue.

re: no one spends hundreds of thousands of dollars fighting multiple lawsuits in multiple states when a simple $12.50 Birth Certificate would suffice

Amen! That and that alone is enough to keep me interested. I wonder if he even has one. Not so much that what it says would be bad for him, but rather that he wasn't born when and/or where he claims and for that reason simply can't produce the document. That would be a real poser for him and just about the only defense would be just what we're seeing now, stonewalling at every turn.

Seems to me if such a document existed someone would have come across it by now. Goodness knows, it would make someone rich.

The simplest explanation would be that there is no BC, not that it's being hidden or anything. And as long as he can continue to avoid having someone with some authority ask to see it, he's home free.
