This is all a perfect example of how the conservative marketplace -- that I wrote about recently -- is driving the right, to the detriment of the Republican Party.

Who gives a rats @ss about moderate fence sitters who ebb and flow with the tides of public opinion? They weren't the ones that fought for independence, liberty, and freedom, they were the one's too embarrassed to toss tea into the harbor, too busy to ride with Revere, too intimidated to be at Concord or Lexington. They cared a bit too much what their friends and neighbors thought.

So it really all comes down to the few dedicated ones on either side of the issues and then the moderate middle will follow.
