Sometimes what is, is
The GOPNation.com ^ | July 28, 2009 | Ted Tally

Posted on 07/28/2009 6:27:52 AM PDT by bmweezer

He was born in Hawaii. Get over it. (Unless he wasn't, of course.)

While I would personally love knowing (as 100 percent fact) that our Dear Leader was, in fact, not born in the United States, that reality is not going to happen.

First, there is absolutely no way of knowing what (if anything) happened to President Obama's original birth certificate. If, the truth is what the State of Hawaii says it is, and the state simply misplaced, destroyed or left fall-into-the trash the original, and then issued a replacement, there is no way to confirm or deny this 'fact.'

Second, let's assume that Obama was born in Kenya (perhaps he was) and for reasons of sabotage, it was destroyed and in its place was produced a replacement from Hawaii. Again, there is no way of knowing what is fact or not.

Unlike passports, which take a certain degree of technical knowledge (and equipment) to produce forgeries (which yes, still does happen), U.S. birth certificates are sometimes simple in nature and are easy to (re)produce. Besides, they also differ in each state and are revised often by said states in time. For example, someone born in Hawaii (or any other state) in 2007 would get a different formatted birth certificate that someone, say, born in the same state in 1969. Both certificates would (or should) be considered valid and actual, despite that fact that each would look entirely different.

In Obama's case - born in 1961 - if the actual birth certificate was misplaced - its replacement would look different than what the original would have looked like. And, again it would make no difference. Even if a Obama-was-born-in-Kenya birth certificate was uncovered (and there are rumors out there that one does exist), again, there would be no way of knowing which version was 100 percent fact and which one was incorrect.

In reality, birth certificates should be issued (and look the same) in each state and all should contain up-to-date anti-forgery technology, but that is a current issue that could only rectify future in-discrepancies. Besides, short of each of us receiving a 'World Birth Certificate' (what a terrible thought), what we do in this country to control the processing of certificates would have no affect on what, say, Kenya does in its country.

What we are left with then, is no way of knowing with 100 percent certainty whether our president is or is not a U.S.-born citizen. However, with the birth certificate process as it stands now, none of us could confirm our status either.

With 100 percent certainty.

Speaking of Passports, maybe he could show us an expired one? I still have all of mine, and I suspect most other do too.

He is smoking something...No one has claimed any of this.

Oh, and for a "professional writer" the grammar sucks.

Yeah but how about one, single, straight story about what happended to it?

It’s sealed. It’s lost. It’s destroyed. I saw it. Nobody can see it. We went to electronic records.

How about releasing whatever records Hawaii has? How about all the other records?

Time to put this distracting sideshow behind us by releasing all the records. It’s that simple!

Ted Tally, give your head a shake.

This is not simply a case of the missing birth certificate. We are talking about no trace of this man at birth, in childhood, youth, and a good part of his adulthood and professional life. Is it a coincidence just about everything is missing? Get it?

As to the birth certificate itself, it could be traced back to one of the hospitals involved, if willing. But which one, if any?

The easiest thing to do of course, is for Obama to release a genuine copy of the BC.

You’re not allowed to keep expired passports. I know as I am going through this right now.

If you have an expired passport you are supposed to turn it in at the time you renew. If it was lost, misplaced or you don’t know where iut is [as in my case] you have to fuill our an affidavit saying such ... that you do not have one to turn in.

Exactly
I have always thought he was born in Hawaii, why he keeps his original bC a secret is a puzzling mystery.
I would like to see his passports and his application to Occidental, which I believe would show him as a foreign student named Barry Soetoro.

Not sure if that disqualifies him but he felt something in his personal documents could hurt him

Perhaps the birthplace is the wrong avenue to take, an impossibility to prove. Maybe a better route would be to look into his residency in Indonesia. If he in fact gave up his US citizenship to live in Indonesia and also to travel to Pakistan, he would not qualify to be president, is my understanding.

Ya gotta love it.

So, when I get a job offer based on my assertion that I have a college degree and show the interviewer my diploma (crafted in Photoshop and printed on my color laserjet), later when HR asked for my transcripts I can just say they were destroyed and skip on back to my office????

My dog ate it just ain't gonna fly here.

I tend to agree. Anything that shows up now, will probably be de-bunked as a fake. This has escalated to the ponit where many just will not be satisfied unless Obama is out.

It’s obvious that he’s been lying about something, something BIG,
and those documents would refute his lie.

Good article. This is a dead issue. I think the author makes his point very well. Either there is a genuine BC which will never see the light of day, or it was stolen/destroyed, whatever. Once someone becomes Fuhrer, there’s not much point in going on about their legitimacy for office. At this point, it’s a fait accompli.

I am always suspect of people that say that.

At this point, it’s a fait accompli.

So much for the rule of law, then.

How did Barry Soetoro legally change his name
back to Barack Obama?
Was he ever really adopted or not?
