On Grayson Biographical page he claims he founded IDT. On IDT’s web site I found this:

Howard S. Jonas founded IDT in August 1990, and has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors since its inception. Mr. Jonas served as Chief Executive Officer of the Company from December 1991 until July 2001, as President of the Company from December 1991 through September 1996, and as Treasurer of the Company from inception through 2002. Mr. Jonas has also served as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of IDT Telecom from December 1999 to April 2008, as Co-Chairman since April 2008, and as a director of IDT Capital since September 2004. Mr. Jonas served as Co-Chairman of the Board of Directors of IDT Entertainment from November 2004 until August 2006. Since August 2006, Mr. Jonas has been a director of Starz Media Holdings, LLC, Starz Media, LLC and Starz Foreign Holdings, LLC, each of which is a subsidiary of Liberty Media Corporation. In addition, Mr. Jonas has been a director of IDT Energy since June 2007 and a director of American Shale Oil Corporation since January 2008. Mr. Jonas is also the founder and has been President of Jonas Publishing since its inception in 1979. Mr. Jonas was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Net2Phone from October 2001 to October 2004, the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Net2Phone from October 2004 to June 2006, and has served as the Chairman of Net2Phone since June 2006. Mr. Jonas received a B.A. in Economics from Harvard University.

Too bad! If he actually were conservative, I’d have offered one of our aged liberal Senators (McCain, Grassley, etc.) for their bright Congressman.

And the committee chairman had to butt in and answer one of the questions Bernanke didn’t know the answer to.

Bernanke, another one of Bush’s huge mistakes. Paulson was another.

I detest Grayson. He doesn’t care that money is being spent all he cares about is who has control over it.

Exactly. He's no friend to freedom. This is nothing but a power struggle, nothing more than the aristocracy fighting over who gets to rule over us.

We need to realize that we have very few friends in Washington.

I was amused by his bio on the Congressional web site, where he makes the Obama-esque claim that he altruistically bypassed a law firm job for two years working as a clerk for the US Supreme Court. No reasonable Harvard Law grad would pass on that credential. He then not only moved onto the law firm job, but he jumped from their to the riches of a high-tech startup.

He also whines about having grown up in the tenements of the Bronx when both his parents were teachers, and claims rather improbably that he wouldn’t have been treated for his childhood asthma had his parents not had health insurance.

So he seems to have an Obama-esque chip on his shoulder—but more legitimate brainpower.

Neil Cavuto interviewed Grayson on employee compensation legislation that Grayson sponsored.

Not sure what Grayson was going on about, but a swap is not credit. If Fed enters into a swap contract with another central bank they provide USD to that bank in exchange for foreign currency. (There are additional agreements having to do with relative interests rates and there could be an exchange rate agreement as well.) Since the counterparty is a central bank, the risk is close to zero, so this transaction costs United States nothing.

As a rule of thumb, if a liberal tries to make a point he is probably wrong.

Embrace our inner Ron Paul (and earmarks)? Embrace Alex Jones? Embrace a torrent of populist frenzy?

You should absolutely be feeling crazy.

Listen to Barney Frank’s interrupts defending Bernanke and the giving away of US dollars to foreigners.

Republican must run against the Fed, against Goldman Sachs, against the World Bank. Embrace our inner Ron Paul and yes even Alex Jones in a torrent of populist frenzy and take back the House. I feel crazy saying all that, but I really believe there is such a barely-suppressed rage lurking out there, that linking GS with the DNC is political gold in 2010.

You are 100% correct IMO. I used to poke fun at Ron Paul and Alex Jones. Now, not so much. In the end, they may be laughing at the rest for being so naive and gullible.

What is the “Federal Reserve”

I just watched all 5 videos. That was very informative.

The money was not “given” to foreign banks. Dollars were exchanged for foreign currencies. Grayson is becoming quite a blowhard. It’s bad enough figuring out what the real problems without clowns creating problems that do not exist and mischaracterizing what the Fed has done. Does Grayson really understand this stuff? Or, is this just calculated to be theatre to play back home. I think it’s the latter, for sure, and the former, too, most likely?

Your post makes a lot of sense....but the GOP, when push comes to shove....they go liberal like the DNC

It wasnt too long ago when people on here were making fun of Paul....now they wished they had not. GOP ends up with liberal McCain as its nominee
