The Jackasses did it……HR 2749 the Seizure of the US food supply and production passed the House
Farm Wars ^

Posted on 08/01/2009 7:24:30 PM PDT by FromLori

Despite some really eloquent speeches to the contrary, our “for sale” House of Representatives passed the Food Fascism Act….euphemistically called a food safety act, by a margin of about 140 over the naysayer’s.

True to form, Rosa DeLauro spoke about things she knows nothing about and couldn’t care less; Rosa just loves her some Monsanto!

And that exclusion for farms??? Gone! And that includes you organic idiots who thought you had kissed enough behinds to have your industry excluded.

The newly revised bill that appeared overnight after the original was defeated 29th of July, now includes all those farms we were told would not be affected by this legislation. Of course those big agri-corporations made out like bandits. Biopiracy is going to have a profitable future thanks to the political whore’s in congress we call our representatives.

The entire HR 2749 bill was completely wiped and replaced with an amendment that was the text of another bill similar to, but far more lethal than the first. Now, please tell me again that backroom deals and pre-planned votes don’t happen in congress. To make it look bi-partisan, some Democrats voted no, and some Republicans voted yes. This was to make you think they had actually debated and considered what they all intended to do anyway.

The bill that passed does only two things……..it seizes control of food production and supply and then hands it over to big agri-corporations. The remaining content of the bill is a primer on enforcement……meaning all the powers they have granted themselves to prevent you from claiming Constitutional protections, and enabling them to violate your rights on multiple levels…..all for food safety of course.

There is NOTHING in this bill that will address, prevent or otherwise affect the safety of food. This was federal encroachment which will be extended to the states with the cooperation of state officials. This bill did nothing but establish a police agency, granting it massive and uncontrolled enforcement capabilities allowing it to make up even more rules to benefit its corporate sponsors, as it moves along.

Oh! And did I mention this will be done by expanding the FDA? The FDA for god’s sake!

A November 2007 report titled “Subcommittee on Science and Technology, FDA Science and Mission at Risk” doc was a scathing review of the not only the inadequacies of FDA, but the fact that it in no way can assure the safety of food in the United States.

That report cited the massive failure of FDA to perform even its basic functions, going on to declare the agency’s problems were the result of corporate influence and funding. It should have been declared defunct right then and there, but of course the lobbyists who stalk the hallways of congress on behalf bio-pirates and other parasitic corporations just wouldn’t hear of such a thing. I can only assume the report on the massive failure of FDA to operate on even a cursory level ended up in the restrooms to wipe the behinds of all those royal asses who hold down seats in the House and who voted today to end competition for industrialized corporate producers while wiping out family and independent operations.

And it wasn’t just the House that sold us out. In the last few months various organic associations and other assorted producers came out with what they described as “myths on the net” about the intention of these bills. Why…..these bills were not going to apply to family and independent farms and ranches and surely not to organic growers. That was just internet hysteria! I wonder who was hysterical last evening as this bill passed specifically bringing them under the expanded FDA authority? And drinks all around!

I have no doubt that dinner and drinks were being supplied last evening by corporate lobbyists as a way to thank House members for passing this seizure of the US food production and supply. FDA was probably pouring the champagne. I wonder if anyone thought to invite those organic groups?

Maybe they could give everyone a big dose of Vioxx when they arrive, spike it with a Gardasil shot and then wash it all down with a big giant super sized diet soda loaded with that yummy aspartame. This should all be followed by a meal consisting of gmo infected fruits and veggies with a big slab of genetically altered meat just oozing antibiotics, growth hormones and the residues from chemicals of all kinds, shipped in from a country who gave their word they “inspected” the food before shipping it.

After all, thanks to Henry Waxman and his cohorts in Constitutional Crime, that’s what is going to end up on our plates.

You are right. All I hear from the left is that the Republicans are the “Party of No”. Well I should hope someone would say NO to this madness!

What amazes me is the irrational distrust of corporations that liberals have and an irrational trust of government.

I understand, that’s why I’m reading the bill.

But if you go to that webpage (http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h2749/text#) that has the entire bill on it and look up the words that were on the OTHER bill giving exemption to farms that you posted, it’s not there.

When you log on to the CURRENT bill, link above, and click on “Edit” below the address bar and then “Find on this page”

Paste this portion, “‘(B) Such term does not include farms; private residences of individuals; restaurants”

It will say ‘text not found’.

I suspect this bill was ‘sold’ to them as being necessary to protect America’s food supply. After all, we’ve had the recent scares about e-coli and other nasty stuff in produce from Mexico, and pollutants in food imported from China. Maybe they thought that’s what this bill was about. It’s already clear, from the ObamaSCare nonsense, that most congressfolks don’t actually spend time READING the legislation on which they vote.

Better Idea: “How about I shoot you and take your food?”

My neighbor shook his head sadly and said, "Yeah, 8 years with the wrong guy in the White House really screwed us, huh?"

LOL! Yeah, that sounds like many of my MA neighbors and friends, as well. They have the 'Stupid Democrat' disease up here, for sure.

Just remembered this article this morning, and it is relevant to what is happening:

http://www.newsweek.com/id/193500?digg=1

Quote from: Jim Rogers, the legendary American investor, financial commentator and, along with George Soros, founder of the Quantum Fund

Are we going to see another food-price spike sometime soon? Definitely. I think you should move back to Indiana and marry a farmer. There are times in history when the money lenders have been in charge, and we just came through one of those periods. But it wasn't always that way. Wall Street was a backwater in the '40s, '50s, '60s and '70s, and it will be again. Farmers are going to be the ones driving Lamborghinis, and the traders are going to have to learn to drive tractors.

Gentlemen this is a planned assault.

In that they put the mechanism in order to create the biggest famine that the world has ever seen your assessment is correct.

But do not be deceived, this was no accident or fluke.

It is only another step by obama had his deciples to totally and completely destroy the United States of America.

Once these bills [climate control, food security,”health care”] are with the xception of “ health care” are passed by the Senate he will give his thugs the green light to go after legitmate gun owners.

The seeds that the fools so gleefully sowed November 4, 2008 are rapidly reaching maturity and soon will be reaped.

And even for the fools who voted for obama the harvest will be bitter. The only difference between what we who that did not vote for him is that the fools that voted for him are too stupid to recongize what they actually did on that day.

And as for your assessment that we are on the verge of a civil war, it probably won’t happen. At one time I thought that the good people would take a stand. I no longer believe that. I will have to see it. Now I only know what I will do when they come for me. But you can rest assured that obama will, as soon as his ducks are in order, strike.

>This bill OVERRIDES THE CONSTITUTION!

Then it should be thrown out on Constitutional grounds.
Refusal by the USSC/Judiciary to do so SHOULD result in them being treated, by the military, as domestic enemies of the Constitution.

The Constitution is written in words, which have meaning, there are procedures on how to change those words. In no case however, is the Judiciary free to redefine those words; otherwise something like “Congress shall pass no ex post facto law or bill of attainder” could be taken to mean that Congress should not transmit laws before received (thereby tampering with causality) AND that Congress should not transmit a law regarding the eating of squid.

(Note: Pass was redefined from ‘legislate’ into ‘transmit,’ ‘ex post facto’ was interpreted to mean something utterly nonsensical/vacuously-true, and “attainder” was taken to mean “eating squid” in this example.)

Wow...this bill is extreme...

Some things need to be done...like COOL laws (which the anti-American Liberal Globalists have been fighting for years)....but this bill gives the anti-American Liberal Globalists so much power.

We already have shipped a lot of ag production to Communist China (thanks Bush)...now this bill will accelerate the trend, as the ChiComs will have fewer restricitions.

Even Lenin realized that extreme government-control of food production did not work....as he started the New Economic Program after the people rioted when his War Communism did not work. Even Lenin knew that controlling the food production was not feasible....either the Commies would be overthrown, or, millions would die (which did happen after Stalin did away with the New Economic Program).

The only thing that may save America is that enough people ignore the new laws and continue production as normal....hoping the government will not have the resources, the manpower, or the willpower to enforce such draconian policies

The seeds are my best piece of mind, among a few other things.
It’s good to have someplace to pull back to. I live in liberal h#ll. That’s why I wouldn’t stay in our home. Better vantage point out in the country.

“At one time I thought that the good people would take a stand. I no longer believe that.”

What did you expect? 50,000 armed citizens attacking Washington? Before obuma can implement any of his fascist dictates, he must send his functionairies and gestapo into the countryside to enforce those dictates. Our job is to make those areas hostile and uncooperative. Pay attention. There’s organization happening in the background. It took 20 years for the colonists to build organizations to take on the British Crown. It’s happening again but at a much quicker pace.

If you feel the need for action, run for your local council seat or volunteer for the planning commission or zoning board. Elect a local sheriff who is pro 2nd amendment and a constitutionalist. We need good people like you to gain control of their neighborhoods. It’s where our future leaders and ideas will come from.

"Buy your heirloom seeds now. And grow them under artificial light.

You do realize that the govt will monitor your electricity use and realize you are:
a. growing marijuana, or
b. growing food so you can be free.

They won't care about a. but they will come after you for b.

Remember, under fascism and totalitarianism political crimes are punished more severely than standard crime.
