Catch what Palin said. Or better yet, I'll just quote it: "I would like to extend our sympathies to the Kennedy family as we hear word about the passing of Senator Ted Kennedy. He believed in our country and fought passionately for his convictions."
Classy without being complimentary.
An absolutely perfect quote for the day.
Beat me to it.
Ditto!
Forgive the double.
I don't know how to tell you this, but the "close kin" he left behind don't visit FR. Ordinarily, I would overlook the shortcomings of an individual if they had made an effort to compensate for a wrong - but that's not the case with him and God may forgive him - but, God forgive me, but I won't.
****or his fruits are very small****
and pickled...
( In a bar I know in Hyannis, MA )
Thank you for saying so. I don’t know why God gave him so many gifts. And he never seemed repentant. But, that is God’s business now. To all Freepers, just turn off the set and lets enjoy living.
2. When the first thread was posted at 1:15 AM I was up and read the thread. Please note I made no comment, nor have I made any comment about his death.
3. Expression with self discipline is not a bad thing.
While I personally agree with your statement I resent contantly being told when I can speak and what I can and can not say, especially here on FR.
Ted Kennedy was a good swimmer. He was famous. He helped the economy by buying a lot of American made liquor. He made a lot of us pudgy middle aged men look healthy. Harry Reid will miss him.
You mean they don't already? Come on....
I'm not rejoicing in anyone's death....I never have....but I see no reason to white-wash my opinion of the man or the family just because he stopped breathing. I am stating facts, and because he lived life publicly, his character came from what he lived publicly. This if-you-cant-say-something-nice stuff is for people who live in your world and share your space.....not for men whose power can affect our daily lives and welfare.
As for his spiritual life, I don't judge. That's not my job.
You are a better person than I. Instead of sending compassionate energy toward Hyannis Port I will open up the StarTribune obituary pages and offer my prayers and thoughts to the grieving loved ones of better men and women than Edward Kennedy.
I appreciate your intent, and you are probably correct in that we should behave ourselves and act with compassion for the dead.
That said, Kennedy was a pompous ass who wasted his life supporting the murder of unborn children and a low-life scumbucket who got away with murdering a young woman simply because he was a Kennedy.
Personally, I hope God throws the book at him.
So what?? Who freakin' cares what they think? Why do people always think we need to worry what these pussbags say about us? If every poster in here lavished praise on Teddy will it change their view of this site? NO, so why even bother? Why does the lefty blogs opinions matter so much to you?
Glad to see so many without sin casting stones... Only God knows the heart, and it is His opinion that matters. I pray for Ted Kennedy’s soul and that he find eternal peace in our merciful God.
They and Bill O'Reilly have already done that -- several times with or without ammunition.
