Pence calls on Van Jones to resign

Rep. Mike Pence, the no. 3 Republican in the House, is calling on Obama green jobs czar Van Jones to resign.
This sort of thing would usually be laughed off by Democrats -- a conservative Republican telling a Democratic appointee to quit.
But the Obama team isn't exactly jumping to back Jones today in wake of revelations that in the past he signed on to one of the "truther" groups that claimed 9/11 was an inside job. Oh, and he called Republicans a**holes in a video earlier this year before he was appointed.
Asked about Jones' affiliations with the 9/11 group at the daily briefing, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs would only say: "It's not something that the president agrees with." And then Gibbs referred other questions to a statement Thursday by the Council on Environmental Quality in which Jones said he never backed any of these 9/11 conspiracy groups.
"Given recent revelations concerning the associations and statements of the president's green jobs czar, Van Jones should resign his position and if he is unwilling to do so, the president should demand his resignation. His extremist views and coarse rhetoric have no place in this Administration or the public debate," Pence said. "The Constitution of the United States vests Congress with the responsibility to advise and consent in the appointment of high ranking officials by the president. To date, President Obama has appointed more than thirty individuals to czar positions within his Administration without permitting the Congress or the American people to properly examine their backgrounds or public records."

Yep. Pence is quickly rising to the top, for good reason. He’s got a pair.

That’s not my premise.
It is totally irrelevant.
All that matters in the end is that she did not help McCain win.
Furthermore, no one is going to be excited over a rerun.
Forget about it, it’s over. 2008 is in the past.
Palin can do a lot of good in a lot of areas, speaking at events and such, but she’s not going to be on another presidential ticket.

As long as Boehner refuses to stand down, and the House GOP continues to be too afraid to retool and begin promoting their own message, Mike Pence's talents will continue to go neglected in the #3 spot.
Once the House Republicans decide it's time to step out from under their desks and pursue a liberty agenda in the sunlight with a charismatic leader, then they will give Mike Pence the top spot. But not until then. The fate of the 2010 midterms depend on whether or not they are ready.
Unfortunately, it will require either Boehner to be motivated by something besides arrogance for once, or for the spineless GOP to mount a revolt against him, something even less likely from the gang that is too timid to even stand up to the other party's leader.
Perhaps one of the things we should have been demanding at these townhalls is for Boehner to be pushed aside if he refuses to step aside on his own.

I’m not stuck on either Mitt or Huck.
I don’t know who should be the GOP nominee (that’s what primaries are for.)
I do know who shouldn’t be on the ticket, though, if the GOP wants to actually defeat 0bama.
Certainly not a retread, or last year’s loser, that is for sure.
Honestly, if I could snap my fingers and decide the GOP nominee on my own, I’d probably choose Newt. He’s someone who could actually articulate what Republicans stand for.
When was the last time we had someone like that?
Oh yeah... it was Newt, back in the ‘90s.

Who do you want in the President and V.P. positions?

Boehner looks like a dork. Pence has the image and ability to lead. Get Boehner out and get Pence in to win in 2010.

Um, yeah. That’s never going to happen. May as well wish for Reagan to come back and be President.

I like Pence and I really, really like that I've been seeing him on the tube more as of late. He has intelligence, humor, knows the product (for good and bad) and is, as far as I can tell, a true conservative. Very cool guy, and not in that Obama kind of kool way. A real optimist for the right reasons. No BS.

Sad part is - the GOP has been given so much to go after. Daily, one by one, they should be slamming them and be unrelenting!

When he goes we need to make sure that NOT one thin dime of our money goes with him. NO golden parachutes for this donkey.

AND...all 30 of them on government payroll, increasing administration's employee costs by hundreds of thousands...and all paid by US. When Obama asked Americans to tighten their belts. When state and city governments are laying off employees; cities and states are going broke...and the average citizen is worried about his future, his job, his mortgage, etc.
Yet, Obama is the only person in America who is spending money without a concern.

You haven't been keeping up with the new and lib approved Newt!
Hes someone who could actually articulate what Republicans stand for.
Oh gee, now that's a good reason to want him as a candidate./s

All that matters in the end is that she did not help McCain win.
She saved him from being utterly disgraced from a landslide defeat. McCain had no fire in his belly - never witnessed such a unwillingness to win in a candidate.
but shes not going to be on another presidential ticket.
Since you can't grasp the fact she saved McCain from utter defeat, your assumption here is way off. When you start out wrong, your conclusion can't be any better.
