Remember folks, ACORN was funded by the BUSH ADMINISTRATION
Vanity | 9-15-09 | Dangus

A lot of Republicans are in a foamy rage against the grass roots, whom they feel failed to be adequately supportive of the Bush administration, helping the Democrats take over Congress in 2006. A lot are showing up on Free Republic making comments to the effect that Obama's communist regime is what we get when we fail to stand up for the Republican Party. But the fact is that President Obama was merely an employee of sorts of ACORN. President Bush was the one who funded it with millions of dollars of taxpayer funds. President Bush's justice department broke banks' arms to force them to lend money to Alt-A and subprime lenders, ruling that failure to provide equal loan access to illegal alien day laborers at the same rate they gave loans to well-establishd, middle-class, financially sound Americans they would prosecuted for discrimination on the basis of national origin.

The Bush administration's EPA gave ACORN $100,000 for ACORN's Louisiana Environmental Justice Project in 2004. President Bush's Department Housing and Urban Development $8.2 million from 2003 to 2006, and another $1.6 million to other affiliates since 2003. Even the Justice Department gave NYC's ACORN office $136,000.

President Bush's rabid fixation on growing "civil-rights" organizations led directly to the housing boom and burst, as millions of "upside-down" home owners had no money put into their homes, and no identity, so they lost nothing when walking away from their loans as soon as they went under.

President Obama is a radical unlike any ever elected President, but the answer is not to simply vote Republican. Vote conservative. If that means voting Republican, great: there are many conservatives in Congress who deserve re-election. But that doesn't mean voting for liberal Republicans like former Rep. Simmons, running for Senate in Connecticut, Rep. Castle, running for Senate in Delaware, or Rep. Kirk, running for Senate in Illinois. The surest way to destroy America is to settle for Republican socialists, believing that they are more electable than conservatives. All that accomplishes is pushing the center hard to the left, discrediting conservatism, and giving the radical left the cover of "bipartisanship."

That’s okay thinking I suppose at the national level, as long as the alternative isn’t a Democrat like Obama, but you’d better hope for some RINOs in the blue states where otherwise Republicans don’t have a prayer.

I posted a video of Van Jones laughing about how Nancy Pelosi “snuck” in funding for one of his programs into legistlation last minute. The Congress was running rampant long before Obama. They just do it more openly now.

Which is EXACTLY why government healthcare is NOT THE ANSWER!!!

Any time this government creates anything with a river of money the results are the same. Human nature, human greed. Worse when justified by “helping others”.

Smaller government. Smaller. Tiney.

any well read conservative knows Bush et al had them in the budget and any of the well read ones have been complaining since.

We don't like ANY one funding a arm of the American Communist Party.

I think the point is, you can't trust any politician. I sure don't. Don't forget Reagan signed some anti-gun legislation, too.

I'm rabidly conservative, and have learned the hard way never to trust any politician. Every one of them will stab you in the back.

Since none of you are capable of reading to the bottom of the article, here’s the “so” part of it:

Remember folks, two wrongs don’t make a right. Bush was wrong to fund ACORN.

The time to crush the Marxist apparatus was when the republicans had majorities in the house and senate and governorships and The White House. They failed miserably.

More evidence that both parties are catering to the 6 billion “global” markets and have long turned their backs on needs and demands of the 300 million American’s domestic matters and the US Constitution. And you were there.

>> I understand your point, but didn’t Bush also give money to “Faith Based Organizations” to do good work? <<

Uh, no. He lost that battle, thanks to conservatives who recognized it wasn’t a great idea to get faith-based organizations addicted to federal cash when presidential administrations see no limits to the mandates it can impose on recipients of federal funds.

Doesn’t mean the funding has to continue does it? Follow the sentate’s lead and shut off the funding.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

That’s they point they are trying to make. Everybody does it, you are a hypocrite if you complaing about it, so just shut up.

This is the same moral dilemma parents that used drugs when they were younger face when trying to convince their children not to use drugs. The answer is simple. I made a mistake. I learned from that mistake. I want to pass along the lessons I learned so you don’t make the same mistake.

Bush and the Republicans made a mistake funcing ACORN. We have learned our lesson from that mistake. We want to now correct that mistake.
