WASHINGTON Thousands of gay rights supporters marched Sunday from the White House to the Capitol, demanding that President Barack Obama keep his promises to allow gays to serve openly in the military and work to end discrimination against gays.
Rainbow flags and homemade signs dotted the crowds filling Pennsylvania Avenue in front of the White House as people chanted "Hey, Obama, let mama marry mama" and "We're out, we're proud, we won't back down." Many children were also among the protesters. A few counter-protesters had also joined the crowd, which stretched several blocks by the afternoon.
Jason Yanowitz, a 37-year-old computer programmer from Chicago, held his daughter, 5-year-old Amira, on his shoulders. His partner, Annie, had their 2-year-old son, Isiah, in a stroller. Yanowitz said more straight people were turning out to show their support for gay rights.

Obama's political energies have been focused on two wars, the economic crisis and health care reform, though he pledged "unwavering" commitment even as he wrestled with those problems.

Cool! Now, when can we expect some coverage of the 09-12-09 event where hundreds of thousands marched on the District of Corruption?
I want to know about the Army vet that made such an ass of himself. Full uniform, it was disgusting.
Gays got what - 5,000 people and loads of headlines?
9/12 there was at least a million?
Yep, the enemedia won’t cover American values.
Did Obama have them all wee wee’d up?
If they’d wee-wee on the Obamaloon, they’ll be all right with me.
Good pt. What is wrong with this picture?
Answer: the so-called, “Main Stream Media”
Further question: Why did the dinosaurs die off?
Answer: they couldn’t adapt to their environment.
Heh...obviously the cause, not the quantity that counts...

I guess the media was unable to find/report one offensive sign or disgusting sight. Unlikely but true. They sure focused on those during the TEA party march which was perhaps 100 times larger.
“Hey, Obama, let mama marry mama”
HAS THERE EVER BEEN A MORE LAME SLOGAN????
Do these people have a clue how insane this sounds?
“and work to end discrimination against gays”
And how the hell is he going to do that? He may be able to keep people from expressing their opinion, but that’s not going to change their opinion...
I caught the start of a half-hour segment of CNN. They led off with a reverential treatment of the gay march (noting that “thousands” participated). It immediately brought to mind the way they tried to ignore or treated with open contempt the far larger crowds at the tea parties in April, and the recent anti-Obamacare rally in Washington.
They have no clue at all and don’t realize the vast majority of Americans don’t take their postion on this.
“Do these people have a clue how insane this sounds?”
Remember, These are the people that voted for Obama. There’s your clue. ;)
Exactly!
Millions march on Washington to protest taxes and spending, and Obama flees town...
A few thousand gays march on Washington and Obama throws the military under the bus for them.
” Obama’s political energies have been focused on two wars,..”
Pretty disappointing for this to come from the Washington Times.
There isn’t any evidence to support this ridiculous statement.
We know that in 70 days, Barry had one video interaction with General McChrystal plus the silly photo op for 1200 seconds in Copenhagen.
Is there any evidence that in the preceding months, Barry had any contact with General McKiernan , who was commanding US troops in Afghanistan ?
So far I’ve come up empty.
Is it possible that , until the WaPo leak , in his nine months as CINC ,
Barry had only one video meeting with General McChrystal and none with General McKiernan ?
Barry refused to visit Landstuhl the first two times he was nearby.
The man doesn’t give a crap about the military and the war and the rising death toll and it’s time for the media to stop pretending otherwise.
Amen, Brother!
