Obama Escalates Feud: Administration Attempts to Exclude Fox News from White House Pool
NewsBusters ^ | October 22, 2009 | Jeff Poor

Just when you thought the White House couldn't possibly do anything to make their bizarre feud with the Fox News Channel an even larger spectacle - the administration manages to take it to another level.

Over the past two weeks, three White House officials have publicly criticized the Fox News Channel by denigrating its status as a news outlet - White House Communications Director Anita Dunn, Senior Advisor David Axelrod and Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. And even the president himself commented on his opinion of Fox News. However, that pales in comparison to the latest petty stunt.

On the Oct. 22 broadcast of Fox News Channel's "Special Report," host Bret Baier revealed a White House pool announcement was offering Kenneth Feinberg, the "Special Master for Compensation," better known as the White House "pay czar" for interviews - all except for one network - Fox News.

I kinda find merit in that age old expression,,,

you can be thought a fool and an/or idiot or you can prove it by opening your mouth....

and that is where the Obama House is taking themselves.

The THUGOCRACY of 0bama and his Politburo of Czars.

You had better not say anything that could make them look bad or you will absolutely be next.

This creep is a paranoid as they come.

BTW - if you think that this display is bad just IMAGINE what he will do to ensure his re-election bid when it comes up and he’s got an approval rating hovering above 30%?

It will be the greatest scorched earth campaign since Hitler invaded Russia.

For any of you oltimers who remember “Peanuts” Carter’s `braintrust’: Hamilton Jordan, Jody Powell, Griffen Bell, Zibignew Brzinzski, etc., all of this going on now has to be familiar. These Chicago yokels are completely out of their depth.
And Obama is the worst, in terms of experience and savvy. He reminds me of Hillary on health care, especially when he tries to `break bad’—but she had bigger `nads and still crashed & burned.

...they too will be in the cross-hairs.

Rush said something today like, "you have no idea how scared these people are." What is going on behind the scenes? Lives, careers, threatened? I wonder.

The other networks told the White House if Foxnews is not allowed in, none of them would participate. The WH capitulated and allowed Major Garrett to do an interview.

Are you serious? They really did?

Been at work all day, how did you deduce this?

Now I'm scared -

These thugs are showing desperation in their push to take over - they are in a panic...witness Reid's meltdown at the embarrassing senate vote. He totally lost it.

They have finally gained the power they've been seeking for decades - they were almost there 3 decades ago and then along came Ronald Reagan.

That set them back for 30 years -

Now they are determined to take over the country by any means possible as they know if they loose power again - it's over.

They're like ravenous hyenas - RABID ravenous hyenas.

We'd best batten down the hatches - it's going to be a bumpy ride.

Fox should set up a press room and put an Obama dummy and teleprompter in it. I hope they ridicule him and make him look like the crybaby he is.

Why do an interview with him, just to hear him lie, when they can google him, report the truth and let the 10M viewers decide?

Obama won’t be re-elected — my prediction, but I know I’m not the first to make it.

I think Obama’s problem is that he really doesn’t know how to be nice to peons. And he considers news reporters to be peons.

Bill clinton got four or five reporters fired from their jobs for daring to question him. Basically he threatened to sic the regulators and the IRS on their corporations unless they fired the offenders. And they did.

Clinton also bombed the TV station in Belgrade and killed a number of Serbs who were working there. Not a peep out of the mainstream press for this attack on their colleagues, who had offered them generous hospitality.

I think the difference is that clinton offered the press all sorts of favors for cooperating with him, as well as punishing those who didn’t. Obama only resorts to punishment. Clinton invited them to all his fun parties. Obama tells them they aren’t welcome, so keep out.

Maybe this is driving them together even though they are on very different political wavelengths.

The late night TV comics could have a field day with this. Probably too much to ask for.

Maybe FOX should refuse to continue to pay its portion of the costs for the WH press pool, seeing as it is getting ZERO access for its money.

How would MSNBC, CNN et al. like that, hmmmm?

MUUUAAAAAHHHHHH

Obama won’t be re-elected ---------------------- If we don't pay attention there might not even be elections in 2012. There might be appointments by the executive branch instead. There might be no need for congress or the Judicial.

FOX also should stop paying for “their” share of the costs of the White House press pool, seeing as they get exactly nothing for their money. And the extra cost to them oughta make Chrissy Matthews and his network cry.

I understand that the press has been grumbling for quite awhile at how they’re treated and the very structured press events allowing no questions not pre-arranged etc. So for them to stand up to the administration in protest was hopefully a first step to challenge the thugs. It was good to see but there needs to be more revolt. If they all stand up to the thugs, they’ll crumble. Bullies always do.

There are no coincidences in politics.

IMO, this just tells me that Jake Tapper is not a pod. That is, if in fact the question wasn’t a setup.

Where is Tom Brokaw on this? Katie Couric?

Where for the love of God is the outrage?
