Detroit has about 40,000 foreclosed homes and 80,000 abandoned properties according to an article I was reading earlier. The good folks are going to have a long week-end.

Isn’t “Devil’s Night” the night before Halloween, which would be tonight?

They ought to declare Devil’s Night a no limit bag zone for arsonists, and invite all the hunters from neighboring states.

From the pictures posted earlier it will save the taxpayers some money. I would let some of them just burn to the ground.

25% of the city needs burned down and the city cannot afford to demolish them.

They always do. Fortunately its often more a matter of preventing a fire from spreading than actually putting them out.

The city cannot even afford to bury their dead, must less demolish ruined homes. Plus its leftwing local and state regulations and taxes make it very hard to get anyone to redevelop its No Go Zone.

Is there anything left in Detroit to burn down?

It’s a crying shame these firefighters are risking their lives to save abandoned homes worth $7500. They’re not worth the risk. They should just keep the adjoining properties hosed down and let ‘em burn. A hearty purge will do that city good.

I would be tempted to let these thugs have their fun, but inevitably they will end up killing a kid or two.

Seriously, what really can be done to finally end the ongoing leftist stranglehold on most U.S. cities? When conservatism really can win in most U.S. cities, then “leftist politics” really will be defeated, hopefully for good! There should be special interest groups that are working on finding successful ways of getting conservatism to actually win in cities.

When I was a kid, our local Police Chief came to speak to the class about "Mischief nite", the night before Halloween.

None of us 4th graders have ever heard of this.

Once he told us about the pranks and such, we couldn't WAIT to go out do all he warned us about.

Here's a tour of the historic buildings in Detroit that are gone or going. Among them are some architectural masterpieces, as well as such places as the first Model T factory and Hudson's Department Store, where my Mother-in-Law shopped as a little girl.
