Not good enough! Saying “Oops, sorry we meant Hoffman,” shouldn’t save Sessions and Steele’s jobs
The Collins Report ^ | November 2, 2009 | Kevin "Coach" Collins

Posted on 11/02/2009 6:03:16 AM PST by jmaroneps37

Michael Steele, the RNC Chair and NRCC Chair Pete Sessions have shown they aren’t up to their jobs.

This is an awful situation. Have Steele and Sessions made a big enough mess of NY 23?

These two geniuses backed a Working Families Party/ACORN rodent in Dede Scozzafava, who has now rubbed our noses in her treachery! After dropping out Scozzafava has “Trojan Horsed” us and asked her supporters to vote for Owens the registered Democrat.

Clearly Mr. Steele was an affirmative action panicky mistake from the day he took office. Now his selection is hurting us. He just doesn’t use facts. Steele said he backed ACORN’s Scozzafava because the man being replaced (John McHugh) voted “not much differently than” Scozzafava votes in the New York Assembly. McHugh had a 71% American Conservative Union rating!

Now that Scozzafava is out of the race Pete Sessions, who spent hundreds of thousands of our dollars running spots against Doug Hoffman and sent paid for ground troops to work AGAINST him, is calling “Do over!” Both organizations are now supporting Hoffman and will undoubtedly be celebrating should he win tomorrow.

Maybe the new predictions about the outcome of this race will be right, but what if the attack ads run by Sessions worked? What if the people who were “pitched” door to door were convinced Scozzafava should be elected?

Will Sessions send the same people to the same doors saying “Oops make that Doug Hoffman.”?

What if Scozzafava’s loonies listen to her?

Hoffman can still lose this race and “moral victories” mean nothing in politics. If he loses Steele and Sessions can’t be allowed to say “Ooops” and walk away..

If Doug wins we can’t let the euphoria cloud our next mission. We have to boot both of these frauds and do so quickly.

Those who are sensitive to racism wouldn't need to ask that question. Certainly others know what insult I was referring to whether or not they agreed with the charge.

Actually I already answer the question you gave more directly, so if you are still in the dark, you can search the posts.

The politically correct shroud of paranoid fear that envelopes you makes you read things that are not written. I am not Pollyanna enough to believe that the cynical power brokers at the top of the GOP did not take his race into account when appointing him head of the RNC nine days after the first black President was sworn in. I never said he wasn't qualified, I only asked if he was the best qualified. And since Michael Steele supports affirmative action would he object to being promoted based on his race?

Race issues will never end unless everyone is allowed to discuss them. While you allow Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton to be the only people who can discuss race then racism will not end in America.

Top's a good place to start tearing down the GOP down for the purpose of rebuilding it so it'll be as it should've been all along.

You got that right.

Ta Ta, Steele.

Steele tried to cover his sorry rear because Hoffman was gaining fast------Steele stupidly declared that since both Scozzofava and Hoffman were Republicans, a victory by either would be OK by him........duh.

Here’s the process by which Pete Sessions was elected chair of the NRCC:

The Chairman is elected by the House Republican Conference after each Congressional election. Republican Leader John Boehner and the seven other elected leaders of the Republican Conference of the House of Representatives serve as ex-officio members of the NRCC’s executive committee.

http://www.nrcc.org/about/default.aspx

It’s apparent we must get involved in this vote, too. After the 2010 election, we must call GOP reps and demand they vote for a conservative candidate to head the NRCC. My vote is Pence.

You do not know who or what I would allow, but I could say that you are the one pressing a politically correct view (at least from your point of view), and seeking to silence me for point out what is very clearly the truth.

The fact that Steele supports some kind of affirmative action has no bearing on the racist insult that was leveled at him. Affirmative action is neither a good thing or a bad thing; it depends one what one is affirmative about. I know of no one who is opposed to affirmative steps to make hiring fair for everyone, but that is a far cry from saying that someone should get a job just because he is a certain race, and if I know Steele as I think I do, that would be his view.

But that is not what the writer, or you have been talking about. You are saying that a black man couldn't be (or at least it is unlikely) qualified to hold the position that Steele now holds unless he got it unfairly. That is plainly a racist view. You seemed to be at one time ashamed of that fact, so you defend yourself against it, but you dare to support the view nevertheless. You are right to feel at least the degree of shame that you have exposed, but that ought to make you take a second look and correct your view.

Your ability to project your imagination into my words prevents us from having a logical discussion.

Good day to you.

I disagree.

In my humble opinion (you do know the meaning of humble, don't you), hypersensitivity to race relations is the first sign of a bigot in denial.

Now, wouldn’t it be fun to put Sarah in charge of the GOP for a little while.

Ahhhhhhh, *exactly* why is this imbecile, Steele, doing running the party? {some of that reverse logic thang, steph...LOL}

He couldn't do any more damage, lead the right more astray if he were on and/or working for the other side. LOL!!

"Newt and Steele should step away from the GOP and go do something else."

Maybe Newt can find another dying wife to divorce?

However claiming that Steele was an "affirmative action" pick implies that he got his job just because of his race rather than his competence

And that is exactly what happened.

Steele is incompetent. Therefor, he did not get the job based on competence.

There is nothing wrong with speculating as to other reasons for why he was suddenly given the position.

This should also poison any hopes that Newt Gingrich may harbor of being someone in 2012. His defense of the endorsement was especially lame, and pretty dishonest.

All those photo sessions with Clinton, Pelosi and Sharpton have curdled his gray matter.

I agree. Let’s do it. Term limits for all in Washington, DC. The Office of president is term limited why not the rest of them, including the Super Supremes?

“However claiming that Steele was an “affirmative action” pick implies that he got his job just because of his race rather than his competence. That’s a racist insult, and is contrary to the facts.”

It is my belief that the RINO wusses at the RNC wanted a black leader of the RNC so they could have him criticize Obama without being called a racist. They fear being called racists almost as much as they fear conservatives. That just might be related to affirmative action. Affirmative action is racist, so the RNC is racist.
