I think any race where no one gets 50 should have a run off.

But Hoffman is doing well. He was 23% 10 days ago, now he’s doubled that. Even if he doesn’t win, he had a good showing, and the GOP combined vote still won a majority. It’s hard to win when you’re divided and Scozzafava dropping out and endorsing the dem really looks like it had an impact on things. If the party could have figured out a better way to keep her on board they likely win this one, but it wasn’t really handled well.

Yes, McDonnell winning in Fairfax County is great and does actually mean something.

No way would I want her to win. She's worse than a RINO and some have said more liberal than the Rat that is winning. The pubs better have a conservative candidate for 2010, though some have said that the district will be gerrymandered to the Rats next year.

So, add that 5% to Hoffmann and ‘republicans’ win.

Upstate NY, do you see what just happened to you?

Doesn’t look like David Harmer is going to shock the world tonight.

No one in CA expected him to win. He is running in a heavy dimwit district plus the party leaders in their infinite wisdom never saw fit to encourage him, support him or try to get out the vote.

agreed CedarDave!
I would rather that Owens win that Scozzafava! That just polutes our morals and integrity in the Republican Party!

It’s not going to matter.

Hoffman can’t win. His campaign staffers are looney tunes.

I went to college in Fairfax County. And I still spend my weekends there.

I’ll tell you this. There is a shift in that fine county of Virginia. Fairfax is tired of lying liberals. Fairfax is tired of taxes. Fairfax is remembering that it is a part of Virginia, a place where one fundamental truth was born.

The rights of individuals supercede the interests of any government.

According to Chuck Todd's post on Twitter:

"Don't expect a #NY23 call tonight. None of the approx. 11,000 absentee ballots will even be COUNTED until tmro morning."
