I tend to think they WILL try to push it through no matter what.
The rats believe the mistake of Hillarycare was not to go ahead and push it through at the time. That it was the failure to pass Hillarycare, not the attempt to nationalize health care, that hurt them politically.
Once a government program is in place with a set of vested interests in it, it is practically impossible to eliminate.
Furthermore, unlike Bill Clinton, I do not believe Obama is capable of moving to the middle. Obama does not know what the middle in America is. At least Clinton had his roots in Arkansas and exposure to ordinary middle Americans. Obama has never had that, all he knows is the caricature of middle America communicated to him by his mother, grandparents and assorted leftwing and liberal influences on his life.
The natural reaction by the Left to public unpopularity with their policies is to suppress dissent.
So, I will not be surprised to see hamfisted attempts by the Left to use the power of government to demonize and muzzle the political and media opposition to them, and step up attempts to control the public through efforts like gun control.
I have always thought that if the roles were reversed, and the Imperial Japanese enemy by 1945 had bombed the living crap out of our cities and were just off our coasts ready for the final land/sea/air assault and occupation of our USA cities (and our American women..yikes!), destruction of our Constitution, execution of our war leaders, and what not, that many, many young and immensely patriotic American military men would have stepped forward in similiar such suicide attack options in order to blow up as many Japanese aircraft carriers off our coast, to keep them from taking down our Republic. And with particular knowledge of the Imperial Japan Army’s horrendous treatment of captured Allied Military and even civilians in their zones of occupations, we might well have had no other option than for many to give their lives for the Stars and Stripes and their fellow Americans that way. Have always wondered about that. I also wonder what pastoral personnel would have to counsel (theologically speaking). For the enemy, then, it was a no brainer...you would go to Yasukuni Shrine as a victorious soul for the Emperor and join the gods (sic), but in our Judeo-Christian philosophy, aforeknowledge and willful volition of planned suicide would be an interesting, debatable topic.(Side digression).

There is no way they will pass Obamacare now. They will lose an unprecedented amount of seats in the house. An HISTORIC amount. It will set them back for at least a decade or two. They aren’t that stupid.
I agree totally, 0bama has already said that he will give us health care even if it means he will be a one term president.
Only problem is, he would get maybe 10% of the US military to support him on such a naked power grab. And he also knows the "lay of the land" out here there in American "flyover country", so you know what that means. He and his ilk would not get very far, that's for sure. But there would be some white knuckle moments for sure.
This is absolutely happening. Critics say they won’t pass the bill because it will kill them in future elections, but I think the Dems are thinking there won’t be ANY future elections.

Another option is that in hopes of resurrecting a failed presidency, they'll have a few psychiatrists fiddle with the meds of patients or encourage informants of right wing anti-government groups to blow something up.
Anything is possible I guess, but I think they will just kick the can down the street indefinitely until obamacare is forgotten. If they were going to go kamikaze they would have done it by now,hell, they would have done it before the first deadline i.e. the August recess. Obviously something is holding up the suicide mission and now, after the recent election, things are even worse.
We will see. I really don’t think they have the balls for such a suicide mission, nor the willingess to sacrifice dearly for a greater cause than themselves.
Newsmax published a list of 111 new agencies and programs that are in the 2,032 pages of the House “Health Care” bill. Many of them have nothing to do with health care, and they include at least 39 new regulatory bodies or positions, 31 new grant or scholarship programs, and 19 demonstration or pilot programs.
Also, one Fox contributor who dug into the $787B “stimulus package” found that the chief regulatory body — and its czar — were in the stimulus package and are just awaiting application.
One... man who thinks he knows Washington says he’s unafraid of what BHO is doing, that he could undo it all in a minute. I just sort of doubt him a little bit, and believe that a kamikaze assault to be quite possible, and quite possibly successful unless we’re willing to do whatever is needed to stop the marxists. It seems those who are genuinely concerned are caught between “inciting” and and “sounding the alarm” right now.
But if they’re stupid enough to force these ...
... how long are we going to just say “whatever it takes”.
