I know we don’t want this thing passed but I want to tell you it will take something like this for the people to take back our gov’t. We needed this for the electorate to take all of the Democrats out this next election cycle in 2010 and 2012. We will ultimately prevail but it will be a huge battle along the way.

It was Tim Johnson, Republican of IL. Don’t know why he voted against the Republican alternative, but he won’t vote for Obamacare - see his press release on the subject:

And given that Cao didn’t vote against the Republican alternative, it’s unlikely he will vote for Obamacare (unless he’s an idiot who votes for both plans.)

I quit watching C-Span call-in shows about 5 years ago when they started manipulating the phone calls. I began to see a pattern where they challenged conservative callers and let the moonbats have their say.
It used to be a good network, but like everything else in DC it got corrupted and pulled to the left
I only tune in when there is a major debate, like tonight, and I ignore the calls and commentary.
Did the Republicans just pull something unexpected here? That’s the feeling I get.

as has been pointed out, with the stupak amendment included, blue dawg democrats can vote yes to pass pelosicare - it is a sure thing
if the amendment is not included in the bill, the blue dawgs cannot vote to pass pelosicare
the amendment passed, but it will probably be taken out in committee
the amendment will not be in pelosicare because the committee will remove it
so without the amendment, we might be able to stop pelosicare - with it, pelosicare is sure to pass - and the amendment stripped from it
it is a tactical maneuver
that is my understanding
