In a telephone interview Wednesday with The Associated Press, Charla Nash said she saw the chimpanzee throw large objects around his cage, flash his teeth and pound the bars so violently his hands would bleed and the cage had to be rewelded.
Nash, who appeared on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" Wednesday, said she told the owner, Sandra Herold, eight or 10 times he was dangerous.

Obama. Voter.
Oh man. Prayers for this lady.
if she knew (thought) the animal was dangerous, I wonder why she would be any where near it. Horrible situation. She was a good looking lady. Now she has some real challenges ahead. Can’t help but wonder how something like this can even occur.
WARNING: What has been seen cannot be unseen. That is the most disfigured face I’ve ever looked at.
She knew all this, and when the chimp’s owner called and asked her to come over to help get the chimp under control and into the house, she just hopped in the car and went on over?
Sorry, but either this lady is exaggerating what she’d previously seen the chimp do in order to promote her lawsuit, or she was 100% aware of the extreme danger of going over there when the owner said she couldn’t get him under ontrol, and assumed 100% of the risk. She did a very stupid thing and paid for it dearly. Her lawsuit should be tossed out of court.
Yes if your friend owns a large primate don't go to their house.
Who pissed in your "Wheaties" tonight? The person who owned the monkey is responsible. Bottom line.
Next time my neighbor calls and tells me to come on over to help control her chimp, I’m going to grab my AR-15.
Wait a minute. WHAT?
wow. just devastating.
The woman was her boss. She said she had fed it twice when her boss was out of town. When her boss called her to help put it back in it's cage, she went.
I think the lady probably didn't say no because the Chimp owner was also her Boss.
Good grief, what on earth does that have to do with anything?
Did Obama chew this woman's face off?
They call them wild animals for a reason.
She knew the animal was dangerous. Why was she there? Damn, people can be so stupid!
I love her too! I think she has grown so much since she ran with McCain. I blame him for a lot of the things that happened to Sarah.
Oprah and Sarah are going to discuss her new book. I think it's a smart way for her to get millions of people to buy her book! She will hold her own with Oprah. Oprah got a LOT of viewers mad at her when she endorsed Obama. She lost a lot of them.
I believe she thought the animal was dangerous but I doubt she had any idea of the true potential of the threat. I’m sure if she did, she wouldn’t have gone even if it were her boss. I have to believe if the owner knew that the animal would do something like this, she would have never asked anyone to put themselves in that kind of danger. An argument can be made that she should have known, that’s for sure.
You can bet if I had witnessed this monkey pound his cage so hard he broke the welds.....I would stay as far from him as possible. If my boss called and said he had got out and needed my help to get him back in......Hahahahahahahahaha, Id have told him he was nuts.
So... why did the chimp go ape?
The post injury picture looks like a poor attempt at reconstructive surgery.
Notice the two aids present? It costs about $190K per annum to get the type of attendants she would need for 24/7 care, not to mention medical.
