Nelson is a yes vote (confirmed)
Politico ^ | November 20, 2009 | by Chris Frates

Democratic Sen. Ben Nelson announced today that he is going to vote with his party to move the debate forward.

*snip*

“It is only to begin debate and an opportunity to make improvements. If you don't like a bill, why block your own opportunity to amend it?

“As we have seen before, obstructionists are inviting a move toward reconciliation by opposing this first procedural vote. Let's be clear. That route shrinks debate and amendments, eliminates bipartisanship and needs only 50 votes to pass a bill.

I really don’t believe that in the face of all the opposition they are getting from the American public to this, they haven’t taken that into account. Hussein and Emmanuel have given them reason to believe that that concern can be dismissed. Did ACORN ever get its funding reinstated? I know they were trying to do so.

Crap. I could only leave a message when I called earlier. It is hard to get through (phone lines are tied up) but worth the effort to keep calling the list of Senators on Laura Ingraham's website.

They must be getting a flood of calls too. I got a bunch of "circuits are busy" and even had my calls ring through to the wrong office (I checked the number and it was correct on my caller id). Looks like phone lines are melting again.

I also plan of faxing tonight.

Weasel. Liar.

Yep. Calls are coming in to radio talk show hosts about this. People are furious. Some, though not all, actually voted for this guy.
I don't think these Washington politicians realize how many democrat voters are fleeing the camp over this death care bill fiasco.

Landrieu, Nelson Win Goodies As Reid Seeks Their Vote On Reform
Brian Beutler | November 20, 2009, 9:27AM

Sen. Mary Landrieu’s state of Louisiana is still ailing years after Hurricane Katrina devastated its largest city. So Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid could be killing two birds with one stone by including in his health care bill $100 million in federal Medicaid aid for any states (aka, Louisiana) that have suffered a natural disaster in the last seven years. That’s much needed help for the poor in Louisiana, and also a sweetener for Landrieu, whose support for health care reform has never been terribly certain.

That appears to be a more justifiable offer from Reid than a separate concession to Sen. Ben Nelson (D-NE), another health-care fence sitter. In a move that appears designed to win Nelson’s initial procedural votes, Reid decided not to include a measure ending anti-trust exemptions for the insurance industry.

Filibuster this damn bill Republicans...Liebermann....somebody.

If this bill passes the test vote and cloture, it will pass in some form in Conference with the House.

It is critical, this is beyond politics, this is about governmental control over us and destroying our economy as well as health care system.

Mark my words, the private insurers will either meld into the public option or they will be destroyed.

Blue dog democrats remind me of Lucy and the football. No matter what promises are put out there, they always do the same thing.

Another victim of Purely Partisan Politics who is perfectly willing to sell out the American public in order to maintain his status within his party.

Lieberman has only promised to fillibuster passage of a bill with a public option in it.

He has not promised to fillibuster debate on a bill.

Last I heard Lieberman was going to oppose the bill because of Public Option, but would not vote against cloture. Has something changed? I am really hoping all of those insurance companies in Connecticut would put some serious heat on him to kill this thing.

No surprise here - At the end of the game these worthless degenerate corrupt collectivist DemoRATS revert to type - the upside is this Leftard filth make me so mad that I continue my life of poor health so that I can continue vote against them, or shoot them should civil war start.

Honestly, anyone buying into the ‘Blue Dog’ hype has only themselves to blame. These idiots are Dems - a ‘conservative’ Dem still usually stands on par or to the left of a ‘RINO’ Republican. If we (correctly) expect RINOs to betray us, why would we not expect the same of the Blue Dogs?

I have been trying to call him & his line is busy. I sent this to his web e-mail.

Please do NOT vote for the newest health care or any other healthcare plan the government has its hands on. We worked hard for what we have. We already know there will not be social security left for us after paying for it our whole life. (What you politicians did there is no different than what Bernie Maydoff did. Collecting other people’s money & spending it) If government controlled health insurance is so good why won’t you have it and why will certain people be exempt? Politicians, UNIONS, and others who support obama won’t have to take it. That is morally wrong. Fix the problems. Allow insurance companies to sell across state lines, make insurance portable, force tort reform (if you watch TV for 10 minutes you will see the lawyers asking people to please call for something done wrong by anyone so they can sue) You know states that adopted tort reform had insurance go down a lot. You can fix the system without ruining the best health care in the world. You can put the people who don’t have insurance under Medicaid-with a income scale pricing. You don’t have to force everyone, except politicians, unions and special interest who donate to the right candidate or party, on a bad health care plan. Please stand up for Nebraska and not for the liberals in DC.

This saturday will be about pork.

The bidding starrts at 100 million and rises. Landreau already hs the pork clause for 100 million.

Now the holdouts will just hold out for pork posturing.

I wonder what the bribe was for Olympia snowe.
