White House State Dinner Party Crashers
ABC.news.com ^ | November 25, 2009

It’s one of the most secure places on earth, but two Washington area socialites and reality TV wannabes were apparently able to get behind the gates at the White House and mingle with the crowd at the State Dinner in honor of India last night.

The Washington Post has the dish on Tareq and Michaele Salahi, below:

The First Lady’s office told ABC they would have no comment on the crashers and referred all inquiries to the Secret Service.

Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan confirms that the agency is looking “into a report that two individuals not on the guest list were in the event.”

They sure were. The Post has pictures from Michaele Salahi’s Facebook page that clearly show the two in pictures with attendees at the state dinner and there is video of the two on the red carpet inside the White House grounds.

I think they are going to be on a reality show Wives of DC or some such show like the ones from New Jersey, New York, Atlanta, etc. Means it was a set up by the network. They had to be on the list and approved by the Secret Service before they even got out of their cars or on to the grounds even if they came in with some network honco.

Now if Tareq was actually a man on a mission that night, the White House host, who likes to play with fire, would learn that he can also be burned..and that terrorists don't discriminate or play favorites with fellow muzzies, when THEY are the “enemy.”

...um, because the Obamas keep the media on a really tight leash? Nothing gets out of this White House unless Obama wants it too - be it because of media love or media fear.

Besides - these guys are ARROGANT. Sure - they love playing “funny” jokes on people in other nations. But here at a party they set up? Doubtful.

That sounds very plausible.

Well it will be interesting. Salahi in those photos has on his left lapel (below) the crossed flags of the United States and India, but then above it is some other kind of pin. If that was a security access pin on him just for that event, then that would tell a very interesting story. Something stinks here, either way you look at it. The Japanese press infers that the Secret Service were being set up to take the blame over it.

You are right, it gives Zero a chance for his ‘private army’ that he wants to be funded as well as the military. You are a genius.

In what is the height of irony, the more you look like Islamic terrorists the less likely you are to be challenged at the White House.

There's about 10 minutes of Saturday Night Live right there. Just have a succession of folks more obviously terrorist than the last, and the security gets laxer and laxer as they shuffle through. Show them beating up an elderly white woman in a wheelchair at the head of the line, first thing. The have Osama bin Laden and a donkey with a ton of explosives strapped to it just waltz through, yucking it up with the guards at the end of the skit.

"Whatcha got there, chief?" says a uniformed guard.

"Main course!" roars Osama as he passes through.

"Say howdy-do to the President! Ah-ha-ha!"

Looks like a Middle Eastern pattern on the Gummy Bore’s shroud, or whatever the hell that is......if she had to wear a hijab, maybe there’s an upside to all this

India’s last few Prime Ministers have been “taken down” by some crazy people who "got into the inner perimeter", so I would imagine they are rather sensitive about this breach when Manmohan Singh was there.

And two days before the anniversary of the Mumbai attacks!

They weren't the only ones who crashed the party--this couple wasn't formally invited either.....

That is pretty scary. The secret service and others should be fired immediately. I can’t believe how lax the security is especially with the President in attendance. How stupid are those agents.

I wonder if the Beautiful People had to pass through metal detectors before they got in to the Obama worship service?

Saw that one idiot dork, who crashed it with his wife.

Out of all those male guests in dark suits and tuxedos, he was about the only one with some kind of lapel pin concoction on, and two at that. Some idiotic US/India flag combination with a US Eagle flag or something. Those were not security-provided pins. Those two looked so out of place during the posed photographs of couple after couple on entrance. Overbadging himself like that to look important, when the real people with power just wore the clothes and thats it. What a bunch of Heene-style Reality TV wannabes. They must have given a big crying scene at the entrance gates that they had lost their invitations.

Guest list.

I was thinking that there might be a publicly known guest (on which they did not appear) list and a private guest list (on which they did appear). As some aluded to on the thread, this could be a setup to try to make the secret service look bad. What better way to start a "civilian security force better equipped than the military" than something like this?

Why did not they eat, then, and why did they not sit down (i.e., reported no place for them). That seems rather awkward. One wonders if there were name cards for each guest on the table with their tableware. In that case, no invitations— then no formal place cards, no formal place cards—then no seats, no seats—then no seats at the table, no seats at the table-—then no sitting down. With all the bevy of other sycophants from White House staff, interns, volunteers, photographers, hired help, security, they could easily just kind of hang along the side and cling to that dinner; everyone else would be so involved in the food and conversation at their table and the speeches to even notice them perhaps. Who knows?
