Impossible numbers certified in NY-23
Gouverneur Times ^ | Nov 25, 2009 | Richard Hayes Phillips, Ph.D.

CANTON, NY – The election results certified by the St. Lawrence County Board of Elections for New York’s 23rd Congressional District contain some numbers that are mathematically impossible. These numbers were requested in person and transmitted by e-mail just hours before certification on Tuesday, November 24th, 2009.

For six election districts in St. Lawrence County (the 2nd, 4th, 6th, and 7th districts in Canton, the 14th district in Massena, and the 2nd district in Oswegatchie) negative numbers appear in the column for “blank” ballots, known in other states as “undervotes.”

I don’t understand why they turn voting into rocket science.
It would SEEM that a required ID would help alleviate some of these issues.

I live in NY. I will watch next election and if MY county has these issues, I’ll file suit against the machines.

This isn't run by that idiot woman....Bev Harris from "I only need 5 dollars" fame, is it?

Just caught my eye and sounded familiar.

Happy Thanksgiving!

"It would SEEM that a required ID would help alleviate some of these issues."

Of course it would, which is why the Demo-corrupt party opposes that in every state.

If it is this obvious that election returns are calculated like tax assessments, why don’t Republicans fight this junk in close elections?

It’s just disgusting that things have evolved in this country so that EVERY election for ANYTHING seems to be subject to all these ‘problems’-—no one seems to want it to be a national priority to clean up the process, apparently because it’s just too much fun and offers too much good old bipartisan anxiety as the challenges and concessions go on.
WHATEVER you might say about NY23 is effectively undermined
by the fact that the Hoffman campaign OFFICIALLY conceded yesterday.

personally i think the ID is a small issue. Making sure there isn’t tampering at the polling center by poll workers is the most important. Just how many ppl double-triple vote in the entire country? Its such a waste of time and alot of physical effort, when you could just tamper with the actual votes to show the result you want

ID?

Snort.

In NYS it takes more ID to get a fishing license than to register to vote.

Paper ballots, valid ID with an audit trail back to the voter, fines/jail time for tampering. Not foolproof; but an improvement over the current corrupted mess.

I remember a very SPOOKY White House comment during the day of the election. In the comment, it was said that the President wasn’t paying attention to the NJ and VA races, but was interested in the New York race. That seemed strange in that polls definitely showed NJ to be the closest of the three races (from a Democrat standpoint).

I just wonder, with those electronic voting machines, if the results were already known at the White House prior to the voting even starting. It certainly is possible with the right software.

but was interested in the New York race

Right—where a crucial vote would be needed for Obamacare.
They fixed the system early on...that is why they were all there. Fraud. DEM probably lost. Scazzoface was bought off to push for the DEM. I really hate Newt for this.

“What the heck is a negative vote?”

I read over that section of the article several times and each time I felt I was watching a three card monte dealer. Something is seriously wrong when people who understand ... and can therefore “game” ... this crap have more influence than the total of the honest citizens casting legitimate votes.

In my opinion, there is no greater crime than committing fraud at the polls. Punishment should be severe to the point of being medieval.

Wow. I just tried your “ink blot” test on a local IL Republican. All he saw was an ad for Blue Man Group posted in reverse!

Apparently, Republicans lack a photoreceptor for “spine”.
