garbage.
God knows.
“”What if God asked you to take something on faith?”
He has, but not on the superiority or higher purity of any peoples. Salvation is an individual issue, not a collective birthright entitlement. “
I think you’re half right. The Jews certainly have totally botched their heritage from God, which was to be the most glorious nation on the earth and the headquarters of salvation for all men. Being ordinary human sinners like the rest of us, they botched it.
However, they are still God’s chosen people and out of reverence for, and fear of, God I would not say or do anything against the Jews, for the Scripture makes it clear they are still, and always will be, God’s people.
The Jews were at one time the chosen people, but that ended when Christ arose from the dead. God made a series of four major covenants with the Jews which wee all broken by man. (There were possibly a few more depending on the definition or scope used.) These were the covenants of Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and David. All were broken by the Jews. Christ came to create a New and Everlasting Covenant wit all mankind. Now the Chosen are those who accept Christ as their Savior.
You need to read the Bible and believe what God says. I’m going to pick just one of dozens of scriptures that are an EVERLASTING promise to the children of Abraham through Isaac:: “And said unto me, Behold, I will make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, and I will make of thee a multitude of people; and will give this land to thy seed after thee for an everlasting possession. “ - Genesis 48:4
When God says everlasting, he doesn’t mean the covenant is dependent on their behavior. His people may be unfaithful, but God will be faithful to his promise to His friend, Abraham.
More thoughts.
It really doesn't matter (to me) who was living someplace 2000 years ago, unless someone else claims that his supposed ancestors were living in the same place 1000 years ago and asserts that this gives him a greater claim than the guy who is living there now. The reason that I said what I did in my initial post on this thread was because I was making a point on the author's terms, which was an assertion of the importance of the falsity of the 2000 year claim. An old thread of mine Let's Restore Medina to the Jews, is sort of relevant.
Another thing to keep in mind with this whole "Palestinian" thing is that two of the most prominent "Palestinians," Yassir Arafat and Edward Said were actually Egyptians with invented ties to the land they call Palestine. The only reason that one uses an invented truth is because they know that the actual truth doesn't work for them.

I have. That is why I know the seed of Abraham is not genetic, but an idea. The chosen are no longer of any specific ethnic group, nation, or tribe. There are numerous instances where Scripture identifies those who have accepted Christ as the "chosen".
Good. Expose them and zap them! (I'll pray for their enlightenment, too, as instructed in The Book.)
“There are numerous instances where Scripture identifies those who have accepted Christ as the “chosen”.
Positivelyely: “Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ “
- Galatians 3:16
1: I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
2: God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying,
3: Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.
4: But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.
5: Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again. And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
27: For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
28: As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers’ sakes.
29: For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. -Romans 11:23
That last line says it for me. God won’t change his mind because they were unfaithful. They shall look upon Him whom they have pierced, and mourn for Him as for an only Son.
God didn't withdraw the status, He just removed the exclusivity.
“And so all Israel shall be saved” (Roman 11:26)
The line is presented out of context. Romans 11 addresses the severing of unbelievers and the grafting of believers on to the olive tree which symbolizes Israel. It is not a place or a nation, it is a congregation of people without geographical borders. Israel still exists but it is comprised of those who believe, Jew and Gentile alike. Separated from Israel are those who do not accept Christ, Jew and Gentile alike.
“Israel still exists but it is comprised of those who believe, Jew and Gentile alike.”
You’re confounding Israel with The Church, which is The Body Of Christ. Israel is a piece of land permanently attached to the planet and it always will be, and in the possession of genuine Jews (after they get possession) who are physical and will always remain on the earth.
The Church, in contrast, is a spiritual entity and will have access to both Heaven and earth.
Israel is physical and earthbound; The Church is the body of believers from gentilism and Judaism with new, indestructible spiritual bodies.
Israel was the name given to Jacob and was accepted as applying to his seed and the seed of Abraham. Galatians 3:29 states: "If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."
” Galatians 3:29 states: “If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.””
Nowhere in the Bible is the Church called “Israel”. You are confusing two separate and very, very different entities and then just arbitrarily disposing of one of them. Bad exegesis!
But you’re still ignoring all the real estate transactions that God gave Abraham, Isaac and Jacob whose name he changed to Israel. Most of them end in words synonymous with “forever”. You can’t be a Bible student and ignore that.
The Roman Catholic Church does not hold that Israel is a Jewish state. They also hold that Romans 9 has significance. I will go with their judgment over yours.
Now it comes out; you’re a subject of the Catholic Church. No wonder you’re anti-Israel. They’ve been the leaders of anti-semitism for lo these many centuries.
All I can say is, when you side with men against God you’re making a mighty poor bet. Roman Catholicism is a mixture of The Word Of God and the word of men. The recent “Climategate” was a good illustration of the reliability of the latter.
And now it comes out; you are an anti-Catholic bigot. Don't post to me again!
These threads are better than the WWE, ridiculously scripted but like a car wreck, one cant turn away from the gruesomness of the cult battles.
No, that came in 135. Idiot. (The author, not the poster.)
Whats more, modern Jews owe their ancestry as much to converts from the first millennium and early Middle Ages as to the Jews of antiquity
Which then married into the Jewish community, their descendants becoming part of the bloodline. Duh.
Shalom.
