Diplomacy 101 (NYTimes all but admits Obama inept)
New York Times ^ | November 27, 2009 | Editorial

...the president’s promising [Middle East] peace initiative has unraveled...

Peacemaking takes strategic skill. But we see no sign that President Obama and Mr. Mitchell were thinking more than one move down the board. The president went public with his demand for a full freeze on settlements before securing Israel’s commitment. And he and his aides apparently had no plan for what they would do if Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said no.

...What has President Obama learned from the experience so he can improve his diplomatic performance generally?...

The conservative blogosphere and punditocracy had this same analysis as soon as the talks blew up.

What was that, like two months ago?

But here are the NYT editors acting like it just happened yesterday. Are they so stupid it took them this long to figure it out? Or are they so far in the tank for Obama it took them this long to work up the courage to (ever so gently) admit it?

Wait. What am I talking about? This is the NY Times. They are perfectly capable of being both dumb and partisan.

Unsurprisingly, the editors don't ever answer that last question. Probably couldn't bear to.

Send the ACLU a Christmas card this year.. Make sure it says CHRISTMAS

There is an email going around and there will be tens of thousands (HOPEFULLY) dumped on their office this Christmas season.

They WILL open them because a lot of their mail is donations.

Take up their time and give them a massive headache

I just printed off an 8x10 MERRY CHRISTMAS Celebrate the Birthday of Our LORD JESUS and put it into a standard #10 business envelope so it wouldn't look like a card. I also used a security envelope so they couldn't see through and know there wasn't a check.

I suggest passing this great idea to EVERYONE in your email friends list... make this a CHRISTMAS the ACLU will never forget!

Their Address

125 BROAD STREET
18th Floor
NEW YORK, NY 10004

Did he get a horse's head from Uncle Rham....

Oh, yeah. Meant to mention that for anyone not clicking through to the Slimes. (Who can blame 'em?)

There was a weird, two sentence parenthetical in the editorial, attempting to shift blame away from Zero. The editors say, basically, "we don't know, but we hear..." that Obama ignored his Mid East advisers and instead listened to political advisers, "specifically his chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel." (How is it that they "don't know exactly what happened," but they can be "specific" about Dead Fish?)

Of course, once again, the rest of us had this analysis long, long ago: The Bamster and his Chicago cohorts think they're too smart to need the advice of experts. Whether it's about when to bow, or how to fix the Middle East, they already got it all figured out.

But the NYT editors aren't yet willing to make that conclusion explicit, or are too dumb to have connected the dots. So we just get that odd parenthetical, like it wasn't really Barry's fault, and as if ignoring experts and blundering ahead with his own stupid ideas isn't what he's consistently done again and again and again.

He has learned nothing. He is the ONE, his word is final.

I think Clinton liked that word too. [”IS”]
