Gore vs. Palin on climate change Posted: Wednesday, December 09, 2009 10:41 AM by Mark Murray

From NBC's Andrea Mitchell In an interview that will air on MSNBC at 1:00 pm ET today, Al Gore rebutted Sarah Palin's Washington Post op-ed and Facebook postings that question the science on climate change given the "Climate-gate" controversy.

In response, Gore said that "the deniers are persisting in an era of unreality. The entire North Polar icecap is disappearing before our eyes... What do they think is happening?"

He said we've seen record storms, droughts, fires -- and the effects taking place are exactly as predicted by these scientists for years.

Asked about Palin's charge on Facebook that these are "doomsday scare tactics pushed by an environmental priesthood," Gore replied that the scientific community has worked on this issue for 20 years. "It's a principle in physics. It's like gravity. It exists."

Gore attributed the partisan divide (in recent Pew polls) over climate change in part to the fact that people believed to be the leadership of the modern Republican Party has adopted a global-warming-denier attitude. He said that 100% of the people who changed their opinion about global warming are conservative, adding that climate change should be a bipartisan issue like it used to be. He cited Lindsey Graham as one example of a Republican leader who accepts the science.

When asked about President Obama's proposal for Copenhagen being even less than the Clinton-Gore proposal for Kyoto in 1997, the former vice president said. "It's weaker than it should be, but it's a crucial first step." Gore added that Obama -- with whom he met on Monday -- shouldn't be expected to make commitments beyond what Congress is willing to do.

I love how they went to the fall back position of calling it “Climate Change.” Well no crap - climates change - that’s the whole nature of the beast, don’t ya think, ass-clowns?

I feel this would be a wonderful opportunity for Palin to challenge Al Gore to a debate on the subject. Throw down the gauntlet, offer it to be on national television, and DARE tis idiot to finally have to support his claims.

My feeling is she knows a hell of a lot more about this than Al Gore could ever realize.

But unlike the theory of gravity, which hasn't been disproved and is still a viable theory, the theory that human activity and our carbon emissions are causing global warming cannot be supported.

The priests of AGW can't explain the contrary data using their voodoo.

They lie, it's BS and algore must surely know it.

So, is human activity making more or less gravity?

Horse hockey. The Polar Icecaps are doing what they always do. Crab fishermen working in the Bering Sea report the icepack advancing farther South every year and the severity of the ice is increasing.

Maybe you’ve got it confused with ‘entropy’ and if that’s the case it’s a case of “universal warming”... although it wouldn’t be the universe warming just everything inside it going to the same homogeneous temperature.

When is Lindsay up for re-election? Who is going to run against him from the GOP? I’m going to contribute.

Whether he does or not doesn’t matter to me one bit...Use Facebook to challenge him, taunt him, shame him, ask why a guy that has so much money to make if legislation gets passed won’t take on a backwater dumb hick girl in a debate.

She is the most marketable person FOR the media right now and they would eat it up...she just has to get it started...they will do the rest.

There's a lot of ice there. I think algore is making a lot of money lying to people.

He personally made $100 million and his cartel took home $500 million from the stimulus.

So, let me see if I understand Al Bore correctly. Global warming is real because the climates change? And Climate change is real because of global warming??? Ah, I get it now. Al Bore is a moron. Hey Al, was there ever a time on this planet where there was zero ice at the poles????? When did that happen exactly???? Humans caused that too, right????? Chicken Little is alive and well.
