Syrian Vice President Farouk al-Shara estimated that Israel would not be able to attack Iran without the support of the United States.
Speaking to heads of the ruling Ba'ath Party, al-Shara claimed Thursday that US President Barack Obama has tried to "restrain" Israel in order to prevent a strike on Iran's nuclear facilities.
"The Israelis, despite their (vast arsenal), were unable to force the Palestinian people in Gaza to surrender and wave the white flag, he said.

This is one of those things that shouldn’t be said out loud, even if it’s thought to be true. Looks like ‘Ths Godfather’ isn’t big in Syria.

Sounds like someone is gambling with other peoples’ lives.
Or maybe the Israelis are quietly setting up some kind of trap, to goad the Palestinians into attacking Israel through a small window of opportunity, where Israel would feel justified into exterminating its implacable longtime enemy: the Palestinians.
Israel would never do such a thing. They are already accused of genocide though the charge is laughable since the Palestinian population continues to grow.

Syria’s regime is actually pretty weak. They are surrounded by US allies (Israel, Turkey, Iraq), and Syria barely controls its own country. Read some of Bill Roggio’s posts on his site. Syria is losing control over the eastern part of their country to Sunni Islamist groups.
Any threats by Syria are a joke. UNLESS, and this is the worst-case scenario that I forsee, is that Syria requests assistance to fight al-Qaeda in their country, and we provide it. It sounds insane, but there are precedents: Egypt and Saudi Arabia. It would mean that instead of isolating the Syrian regime, we’re propping it up.
Solution: continue to isolate Syria, but at the same time tell Special Forces and CIA to take the gloves off in eastern Syria if need be.
Or some more "mysterious disappearances" of Iranian nuclear scientists...
Something tells me that the mullahs will have a hard time running those centrifuges all by themselves...
I think Israel has been taking proactive steps into planning an attack. The exercises off of Greece earlier this year and the Juniper Cobra 2010 exercises with the United States tells me that something is going on.
Something tells me that Israel would be somewhat more disturbed by a nuclear-armed Iran than by a few rockets from towelheads.And my hunch is that Israel could respond (and would respond) rather more forcefully to one than the other.

I’ve also heard there is some question if Israels bombs can reach their sites, as they are so deep underground, even if use of latest bunker buster.
Therefor, if she does strick and does not take them out, certain nations are considering taking out Israel’s planes ,that carries these bombs, in order to devert Irans retaliation and possible all out nuclear war.
That's because they restrain themselves. If they used their full military capability without concern for civilian casualties, they would have razed Gaza to ashes.
Again, Arab world, it's message time: Your survival is directly contingent upon Americans' and Israelis' sense of mercy and deeply-ingrained (especially for the Israelis) aversion to mass slaughter of an enemy population. Keep testing those features; you're playing with fire.
I just noticed that quote. Actually, recent analysis shows that Cast Lead was more effective than originally anticipated.
I mean look, Hamas is now begging to be allowed at the bargaining table. Prior to Cast Lead, that wouldn’t even have been imaginable.

I think it might be argued that the Obamanoid is so anti war that he distances himself from Israel because he mistakenly thinks they won’t go to war without him.
