IMHO, catching tax cheats (rich or otherwise) is NOT a bad thing. Everyone needs to follow the law. They should also go after politicians too.

With such a complex tax code, I’m sure tax cheats can be found at will. In any case, here’s where the new jobs are! At the same time, how many businesses are going to relocate outside the country?

They should also go after politicians too.

BIG politicians just never seem to be part of the equation like BIG business is however.

They should start with the politicians and administrative offficials. They’re all wealthy and none of them seem to know how to pay taxes.

Tell that to the multiple IRS agents who interpret the “law” differently for people...

Everyone needs to follow the law.

.....and how do we respect an unjust law?

If a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so.

How are they tax cheats when they're simply using existing tax law to their advantage?

There are hundreds of legal loopholes in the system. If you had to fork over half of your income to the government, would you cheerfully pay it or look for ways to minimize it?

‘IMHO, catching tax cheats (rich or otherwise) is NOT a bad thing. Everyone needs to follow the law. They should also go after politicians too.’

This is the type of attitude that we need less of. The idea that they are cheating on their taxes is probably incorrect. The tax code is over 60,000 pages long. If you go to ten different accountants and tax attorneys they will handle your taxes 10 different ways. Every one of which will have numerous errors in reporting and filing.

The class warfare of the Democrats is the major reason for a progressive income tax. The idea that a wealthy person uses an undue amount of societies benefits is on the face ridiculous. Who adds more to society, the captain of industry with 5,000 employees, or a welfare queen with five children from three different convicted felons living in public housing? The Democrats will keep choking the golden goose until it dies or gets smart and moves permanently to Costa Rica.

I truly can’t keep up with ObamaHitler.

In one of the bills in the last few days ANOTHER government agency was formed and now the currently incompetent IRS (that’s very own employess gave themselves the housing credit fraudulently) is getting a special unit to go after rich people?

This is a freaking joke....right?

So Obama and all of his mob crony friends, Albert Gore, the Clinton’s all of our government will be stopped right????
Right?????

Or will he protect all that give him campaign donations?

AMERICA WAKE UP!!!!!

Someone PLEASE wake me up from this horrific nightmare I am having, hurry!

Screw them. We need a tax revolt, if everyone would refuse to pay the tax, we could choke them in a week. Then, we could begin taking control of this country back over by the people instead of corrupt politicians.

The solution is tax revolt. They cant jail everyone. Then institute Fair Tax and do away with the communist IRS.

“tax cheats (rich”

the marxist tax system intends cheating, and is intended to cut the middle out, people trying to earn 6 and maybe even 7 figures. It’s those people who get tarred & feathered with being “rich” while the actual liberal billionaires get great press & go on making decisions that screw everything up.

Following the law is a lot easier when it is simple and understandable; compare the US Constitution to the Tax Code and you’ll instantly see what I mean.

I have a simple request: someone needs to estimate how much this new unit will cost in Federal employees’ salaries, benefits, retirement, etc. and compare that to how much the unit might reap in “found” taxes. Not a hard thing to do.
