not familiar with this news source, however the story was originally broke on bloomberg just a little while ago. Would have posted that article, but Bloomberg articles are blocked on FR

Real news. And as such unreported by “big media”.

I’m sure Zero will write them a letter and tell them to work it out in a bipartisan manner.

Is this well in that part of the border region that has been in question for years and years? I don’t recall the specifics, but there’s an area along the Iraq/Iran border that has been disputed, often with armed conflict.

Sound like a couple of those concrete jdams are custom-made to fix this problem post-haste.

Wake up folks! Notice what is happening!
Iran is already positioned on Saudi Arabia’s flank (Yemen) and now are making overt moves into Iraq.

Well Brigadier General Dhafir Nadhmi, do something about it! Order your unit to take the oil well back! Just Do It and don't come belly aching to the US.

Starting a war with Iraq does make a certain amount of twisted sense for Iran, not that they will benefit from it as much as they might think they will.
We'll have to wait and see if this is anything more than just a few rebel idiots.

Iran’s goal is hegemony over Saudi Arabia and Iraq. It need not attack Israel, the destruction of which it knows can be entrusted to western politicians.

http://www.theoildrum.com/node/6054 Iranian forces yesterday entered Iraqi territory at dawn, and occupied well number 4 in the East Maysan field in al-Fakah region, 450 kilometers (280 miles) south of Baghdad, Border Guard General Zaser Nazmi said. The Iranian forces positioned tanks around the well.
The border guards comments couldnt be immediately verified independently.
They positioned tanks around it and dug trenches, Nazmi said by phone from Basra. They are still there, they raised the flag.
East Maysan in southern Iraq is an old oil field that is no longer in production, according to Nazmi. Iraq is the third largest oil producer in the Middle East after Saudi Arabia and Iran.
