Phoenix Security Officials Detain Two Men for ‘Acting Suspicious’ on Flight

PHOENIX - Tensions are running high after Friday's attempted terror attack aboard an airplane, and those fears sparked a security scare at Sky Harbor Airport Saturday night -- and two men had to be pulled off a plane.

The two men were described as Middle Eastern and were reportedly acting suspicious.

The flight crew called ahead for law enforcement and security officials to meet them on the tarmac. When the US Airways flight from Orlando landed in Phoenix about 8 p.m., the passengers on board were told to remain in their seats. Police officers boarded and pulled the two men off the plane.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations says the two passengers were clearly profiled. "We often see reactions such as this, where people speaking a foreign language or doing something otherwise ordinary raises the suspicions of passengers and they overreact, and it leads to situations like this,

If this gets to be a trend, air travel is going to start declining. This could drag down the entire economy. Then we all suffer. In a way, the bad guys win then, even if there are no serious incidents.

Plain and simple, deny Muslims air travel, let them charter their own aircraft if they want to fly so bad.

We have plenty of military aircraft around to make sure those aircraft land where they are supposed to.

I believe the airlines will have caused their own demise, frankly. Either they buy into CAIR’s whining and the PC ‘do not profile’ pablum, or else they set in place rules to protect their CLIENTS. El Al seems to have it wired. Common sense will tell them what to do.

Brainstorming, with lots of holes in it no doubt and maybe more for chuckles than anything else, but immediately retrofit all US civil and commercial aircraft with a new feature. In the fuselage, over and above the heads of the passengers next to the air masks that deploy and drop at a major air pressure loss, would be a device holding an inserted thin, slab of freeze-dried plastic wrapped pork (ham hocks, bacon, chicharrones, whatever) and with the push of a button, the pilot or co-pilot or any flight attendent can release these hundreds of pieces of pork straight into the laps of each and every passenger. The passenger cabin area of that plane will be filled with pork. You name it. Jimmy Dean Sausage. Farmer John Bacon. Oscar Mayer Deli Fresh Ham.

If a sex-denied, crazed izlamoterrorist "youth" so much as decides to explode the aircraft as part of Jihad, he is going down in flames with all the others, but his bodily remains are going to mix unequivocably with the pork products, which are حرام haraam "impure", according to the Qu'ran and various hadiths. If a muslim comes in contact with pork he is to wash himself via ritual ablution ( الوضوء ) six times including one time with soil, to become perfectly clean and sinless again in Allah's sight. If they, extremist muslims go to their deaths mixed with pigs meat in one big hot cauldron, according to their tenents they will go straight to Hell, without even experiencing even one of the 72 virgins, they will be impure and damned for eternity.

Place the pork on all US aircraft and make a big point of broadcasting in the muslim world that such a feature is now on all aircraft. Whether the pilot initates the drop down of the pork onto the passengers or not, an exploded plane will still result in "martyrs" being mixed with swine. I doubt any fatwa could be issued by a cleric to get around this--unless they want to totally disregard the tenants of the Holy Qu'ran.

Criminalize terror attack dry runs. Radical Muslims have been constantly testing the system and Airlines should be immunized against civil law suits when staff acts in good faith.

i could be satisfied if any Muslims aboard aircraft are seated in an area that has sealed doors against pressure loss, ballistic sheets, fire suppression equipment and remote controlled cameras, having ejection seats would also be nice.

When enough passengers complain and refuse to fly and the planes are nearly empty perhaps the airlines will address this problem and do initiate profiling.

Keep the Muslims off the planes, now.

I think that's their objective. They never seem to receive any serious punishment for their behavior, and in fact sometimes the airlines even end up having to compensate them for their inconvenience at being marched off and searched, so there's no downside to it for them.

An occasional successful or even unsuccessful but obviously "real" terrorist attack (such as the Detroit event) is enough to keep people scared so that all the rest of the Muslim band has to do is cause a commotion on the plane in order to halt flights, sow fear, and make everything so cumbersome that people stop flying.

I never thought I would stop flying; I'm not afraid of terrorist attacks, but the prospect of having even more drawn out and burdensome security procedures at the gate, having to stay strapped in my seat or feel I'm being monitored when I go to the rest room, and not even being able to use my laptop or hold anything in my lap for hours on a flight has just put it over the top.
