DETROIT (WXYZ) - A hearing that had been scheduled for today in the case of the suspected terrorist who investigators say tried to blow up a Northwest flight from Amsterdam to Detroit has been cancelled.
No reason for the cancellation has been given. Prosecutors were expected to ask for a DNA sample from Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab. He was not going to be in court for the hearing. Abdulmutallab's court appointed attorneys say they will fight the request.

“Prosecutors were expected to ask for a DNA sample...”
WTF??? Ask??? This implies he can refuse???
Incredible!!!
Can’t hold a hearing as the “suspected” terrorist is stiil trying to grow the hair back on his nuts.
Delay, delay, delay. Can’t interrogate him now that he’s lawyered up.
Let me guess: They’re going to exonerate the terrorist, and charge the Dutch fellow with assault?
Assuming he still has nuts.
And they say this isn't going to happen when they bring the try KSM in New York?
And they say that this won't happen when they "eventually" bring 100+ terrorists to Illinois?
This whole scenario gets worse by the minute.
This guy is an enemy combatant and should be undergoing water boarding at this very monent. Of course 0bama is the sucking up to the Muslims chickenshit president who won’t authorize this or some other methods that get real information in real time, in minutes. And this bomber will provide useful leads but the authorities need to extract this intel now. Not one month later when it’s stale and useless
Well, he WAS the only one who stood up during the last hour of the flight (an action which has since been banned).
Next, they’ll probably put all Dutch film makers on the “no-fly” list.
;-)
Some of Eric Holder's toughest lawyers are working him over with feather dusters as we speak. Oh the Hugh manatee
Wonder why they want the sample ?
Anyway, this just shows the folly of not sending him to Gitmo right away.
I thought terrorists liked to put ball bearings in their bombs. Not just a couple of balls!
The last statement in the article is rather chilling:
“Prosecutors are asking that Abdulmutallad be held because they view him as both a danger to the community and as a flight risk. If he is released, it is also highly likely that he would be immediately deported.”
Why would there be ANY talk of releasing him?
Well, he not only stood up, but let’s face it, he interfered with the poor terrorist’s religious sacrament (aka, killing innocent people). Yeah, I can see where this administration might consider that a hate crime.
(It’s come to this? That I can say something like this even in jest?? This world has gone completely mad.)
Yep, that exactly what it means. He is being afforded the EXACT same rights and privileges as any American citizen. DNA can only be obtained from suspects with a court order. Of course, it should be pointed out that there are some ways around this.
For Obama, the War on Terror is over. This is just another run-of-the-mill criminal complaint - like a shoplifter. Welcome to the new world.
Wonder why they want the sample ?
Either they want to try and match found samples from the gigantic Terrorist Circle Jerks that they used to hold in Kandahar, or someone thinks that Bin Laden is into the Brown Sugar and this kid may be his son. (Osama did, after all, admit to having a Whitney Houston fixation)
F this crap, the guy was bleeding and lost some skin, etc... so there we go!
I have a hard time grasping what is happening to the US.
And the Dutch passenger should have had a warrant before searching the guy’s crotch which was burning and smoking up the airplane...
Welcome, Eric Holder, to your bizzaro-world of Obama justice and the war on terror. Heaven help us.
Prolly want to match it to any DNA found on whatever is left of the device. The Dutch hero has said he ripped it from the terrorist and tossed it away from him. Bad for chain of custody of evidence. When the terrorist was taken into custody by authorities, he didn't have it on him so there is no "proof" that it was his.
You must remember, this is a law enforcement problem.......not an act of war (barf!)
Court appointed attorneys.......Miriam and Jill, LOL!
