.....co-mingle...

Co-mingle is a lawyerly term.

I have always wondered , what is the difference between mingle and co-mingle?

“Who was the “sharply dressed” man?”

Could be a collaborator.

Could be a sucker who fell for the terrorist’s phony story about being a Sudanese refugee.

Could be something else.

The crotch bomber apparently used his Italian passport to travel from Yemen to Nigeria and potentially from Nigeria to Amsterdam.

re: The bomber was traveling on an Italian passport

Which doesn't preclude the scenario presented by the American tourist and his wife. At this point there's really no way of knowing if he had his own passport, was traveling with someone else’s passport, had a fake passport or no passport at all.

I do not find it odd that authorities are keeping a lot of info to themselves at this stage of the investigation. True, it could be in an attempt to cover up bad things about the security situation regarding flights coming into this country. Or, it could just as easily be just like you see on NCIS, Law & Order, etc. where investigators provide very little info to those being questioned. Keeping details close to the chest helps identify those who might have firsthand info of the situation.

I think his take is that the FBI is dismissing his charge that the potential bomber had someone get him through security without going through the usual checkpoints.

The issue was not the passport per se, but why he was allowed [with help of the well dressed man] to get around the checkpoint.

In Obama’s WH, it’s not clear what is being considered important IMO.

BTW, you can find Andrew Breitbart’s interview with Haskell on Big Government by searching for “Haskell”. He is also asking out load why the FBI is brushing it off by merely saying the bomber had a passport.

Maybe because they are not accountable to him.

You are saying the government is not accountable to the American people and to the people whose lives were placed at risk on the airplane? What country do you live in?

Well, for the most part it looks like we're all on our own, especially once we're on the plane. We should know not all of us should be focusing on just one guy if something like this happens—no matter who tries to tell us it was one guy, an isolated incident. I think most of us here already know that. If more people now come to that realization, the better. If this guys story is legit, I think more people need to know about it.

It’s clear that from the statements from the Dutch anti-terrorist coordinator Erik Akerboom as well as the Yemeni authorities is that highly likely that Abdulmutallab had 2 passports:

1. Nigerian passport with valid multi-entry USA visa as well as expired Yemeni visa

2. Italian passport that was used to travel from Yemen to Nigeria and potentially from Nigeria to Amsterdam

It seems unclear as to what passport (if any) he used in attempting to enter the U.S.

The options are:

1. Nigerian passport with the multi-entry USA visa

2. Italian passport that would not require a visa to enter the USA.

3. No passport at all courtesy of the well-dressing Indian handler in the Amsterdam airport. This would also indicate his flight to the USA would have been booked under a different name from his Nigerian passport and different from his Italian passport.

He probably could have phrased it differently, but his point is that the FBI wouldn’t even think of giving you information about an ongoing investigation. It would be counter productive. Besides that... the agents arriving at your door could be discplined for leaking investigation details. They don’t have the authority to give full accounting of the incident to the general public. There are times they will not be accountable to us (the people directly) at all, but will be to our elected representatives in dealing with matters of national security.

I would just assume he would shut up and go back to being an attorney, or better still, get a real job.

Challenge reported facts if you want but please don't just demand silence the eye witnesses.

You hit the nail on the head with the “on our own” comment, Jenny. Government can’t protect us, that’s why individual liberties such as the 2nd ammendment are so important.

This is why we have driven nearly everywhere since the downing of PanAm 800 in 1996. (Anybody here who really believes that that plane had a fuel tank explosion, please raise your hands.) I’ve taken one flight to Ireland since then and had the bad luck to be there over 9/11. My husband has probably taken 3-4 additional flights when business required it.

We wear out our cars traveling, but we arrive more refreshed than if we’d flown.

I'm not going to challenge FBI anti terror tactics based on what some blowhard attorney demands and yes, sometimes silence is the smarter strategy.

No, I'm saying the FBI doesn't have to respond to every fool that demands attention.

Did our dear leader ever get around to explaining how Hansan was given the opportunity to kill soldiers at Fort Hood when the FBI knew he was a terrorist? Just wondering; although it is none of my business as I am just a citizen and the FBI is very important abet, incompetent ignoramouses got away with criminal negligence.
