Well, if they tell the truth about the terrorism threat they might have to start telling the truth about a whole lot of other things - like America's current financial state - which would be an even deadlier mistake...for many politicians' futures.
oh, I agree! Being prepared is a great thing - one should always be prepared...
In this case, I think this e-mail could stir up a lot of fear and angst when it’s not needed. Right now - rather than running in panic - we need clear, logical minds to prevail.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this was started by someone on the Political Left to deflect attention of the more vocal conservatives from the health care debacle. What better way to distract than to start a few small grassroots fires about the impending doom of the nation?
“If this being posted causes one person to be more aware or one family creating a plan for a major disruption this will have been worth it to post in spite of the failure of the predictions.”
And if it causes 5,000 people to dismiss warnings because it is a false retread?
Arabic speakers who are Jewish have been deemed not employable by the FBI because they are seen as not trustworthy in their interpretations.
So instead we have Fifth Column Arabs "translating" for us.
OK, to further explain my BS comment:
1) Why would Iran be so intensely after a nuke + a long range delivery vehicle? I would expect Iran to nuke us by any means possible. Nuking Israel is, in the Muslim view, only second to the nuking the Great Satan. I think his ‘advice’ about not being worried about a nuke is baloney. We should be very concerned about that and chem/bio.
2) Airport scanners look for more than metal. Another silliness comment.
3) We focus on security well before the airport. Its our PC govt that makes sure its unused and ineffective. He gets it wrong again.
Will another attack occur...of course. This is Capt Obvious territory. His advice about where and when are greatly in question.
I’d love to know exactly what you all are going to do to be prepared. I think there’s very little that can be done in the major scheme of things. Sure, you can take in supplies. That certainly doesn’t address the major questions of what happens when you run dry and how you deal w/ a govt thats looking for any excuse to enslave you. There are so many terrible contingencies that can’t be accounted for. The chest beaters here have NO clue.
What is false about the advice?Do you think it is false that there are still people who want to come here and kill us?
Did you read this and because the predictions didn’t come true dismiss the rest of the article?
Do you have a link to the predictions? I’d like to confirm that he indeed did make them, and if so when.
I think you are com[aring apples to oranges...
No, because he never made them. This e-mail is a hoax, he never predicted the London bombing or 9/11. It's fake. Do an Internet search of "Juval bombing London" and you'll find that this e-mail has been around for a while, and it's definitely a hoax.
You said the predictions were made four or five years ago. Now you say they weren’t made. Which is it?
Well, someday I hope to help with the intel community’s pathetic lack of linguists. I’m learning Arabic and will start with Farsi & Urdu soon. Pashtu is also undervalued; it’s the language of the Taliban.
In 1979 we had zero Farsi speakers at our embassy in Iran. We had one Arabic speaker in Lebanon in the 80s. We had no Pashtu speakers when the Russians invaded Afghanistan, and actually had to ask a Russian to translate for us to negotiate the release of a hostage held by some Afghan warlords (or something like that...I’ve forgotten the details).
We don’t need more French and Spanish speakers. We need people who can master the “hard” languages. Those funky scripts may look intimidating but they’re really not so bad. Learn Arabic, Farsi, etc. so someday others won’t have to!

Please read the original post; the e-mail claimed that Juval made these predictions 4-5 years ago. If he did make them, they didn’t come true, meaning this e-mail is false (it states things happened that didn’t happen). And since he did not make them, it is false.
Both point to the fact that this is a bogus e-mail.
thanks, bfl
That said, I think his advice on how to prepare is good and we ought to listen!

I agree! I have always wondered why we have not dealt with suicide bomber like Israel yet. It is only a matter of time.
“Feels true” - May not be correct, but his “conclusions” are certainly valid.
Of course, when the next terrorist bomb is stolen in Chicago, who gets the first laugh? The last laugh?
Our government always fights the “last war” and “assumes the next war will be fought the same way.” And, always promotes only those who give the “right” answer.
bflr
INDEED.
THANKS MUCH.
HOWEVER, I believe they WILL use nukes, too.
