They also could be fudging the terror reason for wanting the secondary inspection in Detroit. More likely it was just a standard secondary inspection because he is Nigerian/looking for drugs/cash, etc. I would guess a large percentage of young Nigerians traveling alone get a secondary!

And then, Nigerian gonad bomber hops on a plane with no passport, and the Homeland Security figures out we have an issue with the Nigerian while he is airborne? yeah right. Are we truly expected to believe these are all unconnected events by lone actors?
The Whte house’s homeland security czar John Brennan personally investigated the Saudi Prince assassination attempt on site. Same czar is giving a plea bargain to the Nigerian. What’s up with that?
And, now the Nigerian terrorist guy who attacked US innocent civilians in a plane flying over US territory in attempted mass murder with his jock strap bomb is getting a plea-bargain in civil courts instead of being shot, drawn, quartered, and beheaded as he should be.
How could they not know about the Nigerian guy? His own father, banker executive, contacted the US embassy to warn about the terrorist. He was on a US terrorist list. He has been to Yemen. Interesting. The normal flight path for this flight would take them directly over Selfridge Air Force Base in Michigan. You would have thought they might scramble a few jets to escort that plane.
